The ancients said: "the combination of rigid and soft clusters, the breeze fluttering trembling vines", it is sufficient to see that the orchid is a kind of clustered plant, with a strong and soft style, swinging with the wind like a trembling Jinteng. Hanging orchids are popular not only in ancient times, but also now, no matter in the courtyard or indoor maintenance, the hanging orchid leaves are green, unique and beautiful. Flower friends often react, the hanging orchids in their own home often appear the phenomenon of yellowing leaves, according to experience, may be ignored the following four major problems.

1. Brief introduction of hanging orchids

1, the nickname of hanging orchid: hanging pot grass, hanging orchid, folding crane orchid, bluegrass, Western Europe, Diaolan, airplane grass, spider grass.

2, the variety of hanging orchid: hanging orchid, purple hanging orchid, Phnom Penh hanging orchid, silver hanging orchid.

3. The propagation methods of Cymbidium: plant division method, sowing method, cutting method.

Among them, sowing is usually carried out in March every year. The seed particles are very good, and the soil covered with it should not be too thick after sowing. It will sprout in about two weeks at the right temperature, and then the seedlings can be transplanted.

Cuttings are generally carried out from spring to autumn, and it is also the most commonly used method of propagation. Generally speaking, the number of cuttings is determined according to the size of the basin.

If the ramet is carried out according to the actual situation, we generally choose the spring where the growth is more exuberant.

Second, the problem of yellowing of the leaves of Cymbidium and its solution

1. Influence of basin soil

Soil is the basis for the growth of Cymbidium. If the soil in the basin does not reach the nutrients needed for the growth of Cymbidium, the leaves may turn yellow.

Solution: first, loosen the soil at the right time, because the air permeability and drainage of flowers planted in the family are general, long-term stagnant water and impermeability will naturally produce leaf yellow phenomenon, so it is necessary to loosen the soil appropriately. Second, the soil should be changed every spring. If the depth of the basin is high and there is enough fertilizer, it can be changed every two years. When changing the soil, pay attention to the plants to bring out the soil, and to cut off the original rotten and withered roots, and then add a certain base fertilizer, small stones.

2. Improper watering

The stagnant water of Cymbidium is also one of the important reasons for the yellowing of leaves, mainly because of improper watering, either excessive watering produces stagnant water, so that the root rot affects the whole plant, or it is not watered for a long time, which leads to the aging and yellowing of the bottom leaves.

Solution: first, master the correct watering time and frequency, generally less watering times in winter, especially under 5 ℃, it is best to keep the basin soil dry. The temperature is high in summer. If the basin soil is too dry, it needs to be watered every 2-4 days. Spray page water in time after noon to increase air humidity and cool down. It is worth noting that in summer, do not pour a basin of cold water, preferably in the sun, so that the temperature difference will not affect the whole plant. Second, if you accidentally water too much, you should loosen the soil immediately and let the excess water evaporate. Watering should be thoroughly watered, but it should be watered slowly so that each part can absorb water.

3. Improper lighting

If the orchid is in a cool environment for a long time, the photosynthesis of leaves can not be formed, it will slowly turn yellow.

Solution: although the orchid likes shade, it can not grow in the shade for a long time, and it needs to keep 4 hours of light every day, so it should be placed on the balcony and outdoors at the right time, and it can also be placed under the lamp when there is no sunshine. In summer, you should pay attention to shading during the day, otherwise it will cause the leaves to wither and there will be more sunshine in winter.

4. Improper fertilization

If you apply too much fertilizer, it will burn out the roots of Cymbidium, which will show the phenomenon of yellowing leaves. If it is not dealt with in time, the whole plant will even die.

Solution: the yellowing caused by excessive fertilization usually starts around the leaves, so you should be able to distinguish it. If it is caused by too much fertilization, you should stop applying fertilizer, and then irrigate the whole pot of orchids with clear water. In the vigorous growth period of Cymbidium, generally fertilize once a half a month, remember to thin fertilization, nitrogen fertilizer, you can also spray foliar fertilizer. High temperatures in summer or low temperatures in winter do not require fertilization. When fertilizing, remember not to hurt the leaves and leaf tips, just pick it up and fertilize it.
