Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Cucumber is one of the largest vegetable varieties cultivated in greenhouse in northern China, and it is also the earliest vegetable variety cultivated in greenhouse. In recent years, people have paid more attention to vegetable products.

Cucumber is one of the largest vegetable varieties cultivated in greenhouse in northern China, and it is also the earliest vegetable variety cultivated in greenhouse. After nearly 30 years of development, cucumber varieties have been continuously improved. In previous years, vegetable farmers paid more attention to the improvement of yield. In recent years, people have higher and higher requirements for vegetable quality. The following is an introduction to the growth habits and planting techniques of common vegetables cucumber, hoping to help everyone.

1. Growth habits of cucumber

1. Temperature. Cucumbers like warmth, not cold. The optimum temperature for fertility is 10~32 ℃. - Generally 25~32 degrees Celsius during the day, 15~18 degrees Celsius at night to grow best. The most suitable ground temperature is 20~25 degrees Celsius, and the lowest is about 15 degrees Celsius. The optimum temperature difference between day and night is 10~15 degrees Celsius. Cucumber high temperature 35 degrees Celsius photosynthesis is poor, 45 degrees Celsius high temperature obstacles, low temperature-2 to 0 degrees Celsius freeze to death, if low temperature seedlings can withstand 3 degrees Celsius low temperature.

2. Light. South China type varieties are sensitive to short day, while North China type varieties are not strict with the length of day, and have become sunshine neutral plants. Their light saturation point is 55,000 lux and light compensation point is 1500 lux. Most varieties grow well under the condition of short day of 8~11 hours.

3. Water. Cucumber yield is high and water demand is large. The suitable soil moisture is 60~90%, the seedling stage moisture should not be too much, the soil moisture is 60~70%, the fruit stage must supply sufficient moisture, the soil moisture is 80~90%. Cucumber suitable air relative humidity is 60~90%, air relative humidity is too large is easy to disease, resulting in yield reduction.

4. Soil. Cucumbers like wet but not waterlogging, like fertilizer but not fertilizer, should choose fertile soil rich in organic matter. - I generally prefer soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.2, but a pH of 6.5 is best.

Second, cucumber planting technology points

1. Early melon picking

Cucumbers are early-bearing crops. The vegetative growth period is relatively short, and flowers will bloom after a few leaves. In production, abnormal fruit and weak growth potential often occur. Early harvest aims to reduce early malformations, reduce premature nutrient consumption and prevent disease. Why will disease prevention, because most diseases are easy to infect leaf senescence tissue, early melon removed, growth potential will be significantly enhanced, disease will not alleviate it. Therefore, it is recommended to remove the initial young melons, especially those with weak growth potential.

2. Leaf picking in the middle stage

Cucumber problem posts see a lot, most of them are lower fungi downy mildew, bacterial angular spot disease-based diseases, and most of them are in the late stage, but also the late stage of no medicine can be saved. The two most important factors associated with disease occurrence are leaf senescence and moisture problems. Mid-term leaf picking means picking off old and diseased leaves at the lower part in time. Remove the empty leaves that do not sit in the middle according to the situation. This effectively reduces the initial pathogen, increases ventilation and light transmission conditions, reduces the degree of leaf dew, and the triangular relationship between disease occurrence will be cut off by us, reducing the degree of disease without doubt.

3, see the opportunity to pick the heart

Why pick the heart, because we will find that cucumber to the late, cucumber quality will be greatly reduced. What to do? If you continue to let the old branches bear melons, the quality of melons will certainly not be good, if the market price is not good, see the opportunity to pick the heart, let the axillary buds from the new branches and then bear melons, is a good skill. Don't believe me? You can try it.

4. Spray boron and calcium supplement

Don't say too much about it. B and Ca spraying on cucumber leaves had irreplaceable effects on normal leaf growth, flower bud differentiation and fruit growth.

5, disease control, prevention first

It is not necessary to cure all diseases, but to seize those that have a great impact on growth and yield and quality. This is important. Philosophically, it is called grasping the principal contradiction. planting is called grasping the key points. The prominent diseases of cucumber are downy mildew and angular spot. On the basis of selecting disease-resistant varieties, paying attention to leaf picking and strengthening ventilation and moisture removal, the most important thing is to prevent as soon as possible, not later than 6 leaves, which is the need of disease prevention strategy and the requirement of reducing pesticide residues.
