Rhododendron, also known as rhododendron, rhododendron, pomegranate, Yingshanhong, Zhaoshanhong, Tang rhododendron, has a wide variety of flowers with bright colors and large flowers. For most flower lovers, it is not easy to raise, mainly because they do not have a good grasp of their habits. In the maintenance process of azaleas often appear leaves yellowing how to return a responsibility? How to grow up well?

What's wrong with the yellowing of rhododendron leaves?

1. Watering

Too much watering: the basin soil is too wet for a long time, which will cause anoxia in the soil, rot part of the fibrous roots of rhododendron, hinder the normal respiration and absorption of water and nutrients, and cause cuckoo leaves to turn yellow and fall off. After the cuckoo suffers, the young leaves turn pale yellow, and then the old leaves gradually turn yellow. watering should be controlled immediately, fertilization should be suspended, and the soil should be often loosened to make the soil well ventilated.

Too little watering: cuckoo missed watering or long-term watering half waist water (that is, wet and dry), affecting nutrient absorption, but also easy to cause rhododendron leaves dull and dull, wilting and drooping. At first, the old leaves of the cuckoo aged, and gradually withered and yellowed from the bottom up. Need a small amount of watering and spraying, so that the cuckoo gradually recovered and then turned to normal watering.

2. Lighting

The light is too strong: in summer, if you put the cool cuckoo in a high temperature place to let the strong light shine directly, it is very easy to cause scorch on the leaf tip and edge of the young cuckoo leaves, or the cuckoo leaves fall off yellow, which should be moved to a well-ventilated shady place in time.

Too little light: if the cuckoo that likes the sun is placed in shade or insufficient light for a long time, it will cause the cuckoo branches and leaves to grow, the leaves are thin and yellow, and do not blossom or rarely blossom, so be careful to move the flowerpot to the sunny place.

3. Alkali in soil and water.

There are more salt and alkali in soil and water in most areas of northern China. Rhododendron is a kind of acid-like soil flower. Due to the lack of soluble iron and other elements that can be absorbed by the soil, rhododendron leaves will gradually turn yellow. Acid soil should be selected when planting, and alum fertilizer and water should be often watered during the growth period.

4. Improper temperature

When the room temperature is too low in winter, the cuckoo is vulnerable to cold damage, which leads to the yellowing of rhododendron leaves and death in severe cases. If the room temperature is too high, the cuckoo transpiration is too high, and the root water and nutrients are in short supply, which will also make the cuckoo leaves yellowing. In late autumn around mid-October, the cuckoo will enter the house for maintenance. In winter, the cuckoo should be kept in a sunny place and the indoor temperature should be kept at 5 ℃ 10 ℃, but not less than 5 ℃, otherwise the cuckoo will stop growing or die.

5. Fertilization

Too little fertilization: rhododendron has not applied ammonia fertilizer or changed soil for a long time, and there is a lack of nitrogen and other nutrient elements in the soil, resulting in thin and yellow leaves and branches. It is necessary to pour the pot in time, replace it with new loose and fertile culture soil, and gradually apply rarefied mature liquid fertilizer or compound flower fertilizer.

Fertilize too much: apply too much fertilizer will appear new leaf hypertrophy, and many uneven, the old leaf dry tip scorched yellow fall off, should immediately stop fertilization, increase watering, make fertilizer flow out from the basin bottom drain hole, or immediately pour the basin, rinse the soil block with water and then plant it again into the basin.

How do azaleas grow well?

1. Rhododendron is a shade-loving plant. Direct exposure is not good for its growth, and it is the best place to shade.

2. Cuckoos like the environment with high air humidity. The leaves can spray water or spray the surrounding air to keep the surrounding air moist.

3. Cuckoos like drainage, acid soil, loose, fertile, rich in humus, acid sandy loam is suitable, and should not be stagnant water.

4, pruning attention: pruning branches is generally carried out in spring and autumn, cutting off cross branches, over-dense branches, overlapping branches, diseased and weak branches, timely removal of residual flowers, increase ventilation and light transmission, is also conducive to plant growth.

5. Notes for potted plants: potted plants will be a little more troublesome. Move out of the greenhouse in mid and late April and put it in the leeward to the sun, shade in summer, or under the tree to avoid strong direct sunlight. The suitable temperature for growth is 15-25 ℃, and the highest temperature is 32 ℃. It began to move indoors in the middle of October in autumn and kept in a sunny place in winter. The room temperature should be kept at 5-10 ℃, and the lowest temperature should not be lower than 5 ℃, otherwise it would stop growing.
