Aloe is a kind of succulent plant with green and thick leaves all the year round. It likes light and warm and dry environment. In recent years, the popularity of aloe potted plants has soared, whether it is office or home potted plants, it is ranked among the best. When breeding aloe, what is the reason why the leaves of aloe are soft? What should I do? How to make the leaves greener?

First, the reasons for the softening of aloe leaves

1. the light is too strong

Usually, when cultivating aloe, you need to give it sufficient sunlight. Under sufficient sunlight, it can carry out photosynthesis to promote its growth better, but it can not shine too strongly, otherwise it will lead to a large amount of evaporation of leaf water, softening the leaves and affecting the ornamental value of aloe. If the aloe is not illuminated enough, it will make the leaves lose their color, so we must pay attention to them at ordinary times.

2. Overwatering

Aloe is relatively resistant to drought, and usually does not need to be watered too much. if it is watered too frequently, it will cause stagnant water in the basin, cause the root of aloe to fester, affect the absorption of nutrients in the soil, and affect the normal growth of aloe. Make the leaves soften gradually, turn yellow slowly, and even cause the whole plant to wither and die.

3. Soil consolidation

Aloe has a particularly high requirement for the growth environment, it not only needs to grow in places with good ventilation and plenty of sunshine, but also grows in soils that are not easy to harden, loose and well drained. If the soil is not selected well, there will be symptoms of soil consolidation. It will make aloe unable to absorb nutrients, make the leaves soften gradually, and affect the ornamental value of aloe.

4. The temperature is too low

Aloe is resistant to high temperature, but not cold. Aloe is suitable for growing at 20-30 ℃. If the ambient temperature is lower than 10 ℃, aloe will stop growing and the leaves will gradually soften. If it is less than 5 ℃, it will lead to frozen roots of aloe, make the leaves of aloe yellow and wither gradually, and even cause the whole plant to die, which has a great impact on aloe.

Second, the solution to soften aloe leaves

1. The solution to excessive light: if the light is too strong, what if the aloe leaves are soft? we need to move the aloe to the shade, give it an appropriate amount of water, cultivate it carefully, and wait for the leaves to recover gradually. then move it to the astigmatism for breeding, usually every summer, need to do a good job of sun protection, spring, autumn and winter can be full sun.

2, the solution to too much watering: need to stop watering immediately, dig aloe from the basin soil, cut off the rotten roots, replant in the new soil, put in the sun carefully breeding, need to master the correct watering method to make the leaves back to normal, generally spring and autumn can be watered every 7-10 days, summer need to be watered every 2-3 days, winter can be watered every 15-20 days.

3. Soil consolidation solution: you need to change the soil suitable for growth in time, you can use rotten leaf soil and grass ash soil according to the proportion of 3:2, or you can use rotten leaf soil, red soil and sand according to the proportion of 3:1:1. These two kinds of mixed soil are suitable for cultivating aloe, and they need to loosen the soil every other week, keep the soil breathable, and turn the basin and change the soil every two years, which is beneficial to the growth of aloe.

4, low temperature solution: if aloe is too low temperature leads to soft leaves, first of all need to move it indoors, you can use air conditioners, heaters, etc., control the temperature above 10 ℃, help aloe safely survive the winter, make aloe leaves return to normal, promote its growth better, every winter needs to do a good job of keeping warm.

Third, how to keep the leaves green with aloe?

1. Supplement potash fertilizer

Reason: in the process of maintenance, if a small amount of potassium fertilizer is applied to the plant, the lower part of its leaves will become withered, and the phenomenon of scorching will occur.

Solution: more potash fertilizer should be applied during maintenance to restore its leaves to normal growth. It is necessary to apply thin fertilizer frequently when fertilizing.

2. Proper shading

Reason: if the light in the maintenance environment is too strong, the leaves of the plant will be short of water, especially in summer, if the leaves are not shaded in time, the leaves will be easily withered.

Solution: shading measures should be taken when the light is strong, or keep it in the shade for a period of time. When there is a hot sun in summer, it must not be exposed to direct sunlight.
