Cabbage is a common vegetable in our daily life, which can be fried, made into soup and pickled. It has high nutritional value, and there is a saying that "hundred vegetables are not as good as cabbage". Moreover, the price of cabbage is very low, so it is a regular customer on the table. So, what is the method of growing cabbage?

A brief introduction to cabbage!

1. Can cabbage be eaten raw?

Cabbage can be eaten raw. According to the data, Chinese cabbage has the functions of prevention and auxiliary treatment for cancer, cardio-cerebrovascular diseases and many other modern life diseases, and has the effect of anti-aging. Eating raw food has the best therapeutic effect, as long as it is cleaned.

Can I eat cabbage overnight?

Cabbage can't be eaten overnight. Fresh cabbage contains a large number of non-toxic nitrates, which will be reduced to highly toxic nitrites if cooked for a long time, so it is better to stir-fry them now.

Second, how to grow cabbage?

1. Time

Chinese cabbage likes cool climate, the suitable growth temperature is 18-20 ℃,-2 ℃-3 ℃ can survive the winter safely, and the growth is weak above 25 ℃. Therefore, Chinese cabbage is generally planted in autumn, and only a few heat-tolerant varieties can be planted in summer. If it is an early-maturing variety, it can be sown in the first and middle of August; if it is a mid-late-maturing variety, it can be sown from late August to early September.

2. Land preparation

Chinese cabbage can be planted in both the south and the north, and it does not have high requirements for soil, but it is best for loose and fertile sandy loam or loam rich in organic matter. Cabbage should prepare the soil before sowing, first ploughing the land deeply, raking fine, and then making beds, applying rotten organic fertilizer per mu.

3. Sowing seeds

Cabbage can be directly seeded, or seedlings can be raised and transplanted. Direct seeding is dominated by strip sowing, supplemented by on-demand sowing, and the row spacing is controlled when sowing. If the climate and soil conditions are good, it can be densely planted properly, otherwise, it should be sparsely planted, and manure and urine of rotten acquaintances should be applied after direct seeding. Seedling transplanting should be carried out in cloudy days or sunny evenings. In order to improve the survival rate, transplanting with soil can be carried out with fixed root water after planting.

4. Management

After sowing, Chinese cabbage was watered once every morning and evening to keep the soil moist, and seedlings could emerge in 3-4 days. When growing to 2-3 or 4-5 true leaves, interseedling and supplementary seedlings should be carried out, and weeds, diseased seedlings and weak seedlings should be removed. After seedling transplanting, the seedlings were watered once in the morning and evening for 3 consecutive days to slow down the seedling and keep the seedling alive.

5. Fertilization

Topdressing of cabbage can be started after survival, generally every 3-4 days, manure and urine of rotten acquaintances should be applied every 3-4 days, the concentration of topdressing should be increased during the rosette period, topdressing should be re-applied and potash fertilizer should be increased after the beginning of covering, and there is generally no more topdressing after the closure of vegetation plants. In order to facilitate topdressing, it is necessary to loosen the soil and weed in the early stage, and cultivate soil and ridge in the rosette stage.

6. Watering

Watering cabbage depends on the climate and soil, often watering in the seedling stage to keep the soil moist, rosette stage to control water, see dry and wet, increase watering when heading, need to keep the soil moist at all times.

Third, how to store cabbage?

1. Cold storage: storing Chinese cabbage in cold storage can effectively delay the water loss of Chinese cabbage and maintain the content of chlorophyll.

2. Drying and storage: remove the rotten leaves and dry them for 4-5 days. After drying, the outermost cabbage leaves change due to the loss of moisture, and then move them to the storage room.

3, cellar storage: put the cabbage in the cellar, the temperature should be between 0-5 degrees, turn it every few days, find that there are bad leaves to be removed in time.

The above is an introduction to the planting methods of cabbages. Cabbages can be harvested at the right time after growing up. If there are too many cabbages after harvest, they can be stored. There are three storage methods to ensure that cabbages will not go bad.
