National Potato staple Food processing Industry Alliance established
On September 21, the National Potato staple Food processing Industry Alliance, led by the Agricultural products processing Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, held its inaugural meeting in Dingxi, Gansu Province. The meeting adopted the articles of association and the list of organizational personnel, and elected Dai Xiaofeng, director of the Agricultural products processing Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as chairman of the alliance. Sun Baoguo, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, comrades of relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Agriculture, and relevant experts of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences are members of the alliance steering committee.
According to statistics, by the end of 2014, the business income of staple food processing owners engaged in rice noodle manufacturing and frozen food manufacturing reached 163.8 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 16 percent over 2013, and the total profit reached 11 billion yuan, an increase of 12.8 percent over the same period last year. In the first half of this year, industries such as frozen food, rice noodle products, bean products and vegetable processing involving staple food processing generally grew in a relatively rapid growth range of 10%, which has become a bright spot in the development of agricultural products processing industry and contributed to the sustained, stable and healthy development of agricultural and rural economy.
The responsible comrade of the Agricultural products processing Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture said that the staple food processing industry has an important position and heavy responsibilities, and it is imperative to speed up the development of staple food processing industry with farmers at one end, citizens at one end, agriculture at one end and service industry at the other. The purpose of building industrial alliances and cultivating demonstration enterprises is to create a good atmosphere for the development of staple food processing industry through the government to build a platform to gather resources and resource service industry. In the future, it is necessary to further strengthen the confidence in the development of the staple food processing industry, with the goal of accelerating the value-added processing of agricultural products, promoting the continuous increase of farmers' income, and meeting the consumption needs and nutrition balance of urban and rural residents, and adhere to the work ideas of government guidance, enterprise main body, science and technology support and brand drive, continue to carry out in-depth "staple food processing industry promotion action", and lead China's staple food processing level to a new level.
