Is a cherry a cherry?

Cherry is not a cherry. In a broad sense, cherry is also called cherry, it is the transliteration of the English name "cherries" of cherry, but in a narrow sense, cherry is not a cherry. There are two kinds of cherries in China, namely, Chinese cherry and hairy cherry, and there is also a kind of cherry in Europe, that is, European sweet cherry, which is called "cherry" in China, which is different from Chinese cherry.

You can't eat the core of a cherry. When will the cherries ripen?

1. Cherry usually blossoms from January to February in the south and from March to April in the north. The whole flowering period is about 10 days, and the fruit is ripe from March to June. Because the cherry blossoms and ripens early, it has the reputation of "the first fruit in early spring".

2. In China, the ripening time is different with different producing areas. The cherries in Dalian greenhouse in Liaoning mature in mid-March, the cherries in Yantai greenhouse in Shandong Province mature in mid-late April, and the southern open-air cherries begin to mature in early May. Shandong Yantai open-air cherries began to mature in mid-late May, Liaoning Dalian open-air cherries began to mature in early June, until early July, there are no domestic cherries.

3. In foreign countries, the ripening time of cherries varies with different countries. American and Canadian cherries mature from August to September, Chilean cherries mature in November, and Australian and New Zealand cherries mature in December.

4. Cherries can be picked after they are ripe, usually picked by hand. When picking, one hand holds the picked branches, and the other hand holds the roots of the cherries and gently twists them down. In this way, the picked cherries have fruit stalks and are easy to store.

Third, how to wash cherries?

Cherry had better be washed before eating. After all, there are pesticides and bacteria on the surface of the fruit. There may be maggots and eggs in the pulp. If you don't wash them, you may have diarrhea. So, how can you clean them?

Method 1, wash with salt water: first, wash off the dirt on the cherry surface with running water; secondly, prepare a container to put the cherry in, and then add water in the container to submerge the cherry; finally, add an appropriate amount of edible salt to the water, stir well, the water has a little salty taste, soak for 20 minutes and take it out to eat.

Method 2, wash with edible alkali: first of all, wash off the dirty things on the surface of cherries with running water; secondly, prepare a container, put cherries in, and then add appropriate amount of water in the container, which should be mixed with appropriate amount of edible alkali and soaked for 15 minutes; finally, take out the soaked cherries and rinse them with clean water to eat.

Method 3, clean with Amoy rice water: Amoy rice water is alkaline, has the function of decomposing pesticides, soak cherries in Amoy rice water for 10 minutes, then gently scrub, and then wash clean with clean water to eat.

The ripening time of cherries varies according to the planting area, if they are ripe, they can be picked by hand and cleaned before eating, otherwise there will be dust, bugs or pesticide residues, which may cause diarrhea after eating.
