Hawthorn fruit is sour and sweet, it is the favorite fruit of many people who like to eat more sour, it can not only be eaten directly, but also can be processed into Hawthorn slices, dried Hawthorn and other small snacks, but Hawthorn seeds are very hard and the germination rate is low. here are three kinds of Hawthorn seed promotion methods, in this way, the seed germination rate is greatly improved!

1. The method of early seed collection and variable temperature treatment of sand storage

The speed of seed emergence can be accelerated when Hawthorn seeds are collected in advance. When Hawthorn is ripe in September, it is more appropriate to collect seeds before the fruit is thoroughly colored. At this time, the seeds have basically matured, but they have not been completely hardened or stitched. Such seeds are conducive to germination.

Crush the harvested fruit but remember not to destroy the seeds. After taking out the seeds, wash them with water, stir them in boiling water above 90 degrees for 5 minutes, cool them with cold water, soak them for a whole day, fish them out and expose them to the sun the next day, turn them once an hour, let the seeds be heated evenly, soak them in water at night, and repeat exposure the next day, which is beneficial to the cracking of the seed shell in advance. Then you can prepare for sand storage, and in the second year a small number of seeds will have germinated and can be sown.

Second, the sand storage method of early seed collection

As with the method of early seed collection and variable temperature treatment of sand storage, harvest the seeds in advance, crush the pulp and wash the seeds with water, soak the seeds in cold water for about 10-15 days, and change the water every 2-3 days. When taking out the seeds, sand storage should be carried out immediately while the seeds are still wet, evenly stirred and put into the pit.

Dig a pit with a depth of about one meter and a width of about 0.8m in the leeward area of Xiangyang. The length depends on the number of seeds. Put the stirred seeds flat into the bottom of the pit, build a layer of wood about 10cm away from the seeds, put a ventilated cloth on the wood, put a handful of rice stalks or straw on the cloth for ventilation, and then fill the pit. In order to prevent stagnant water in the pit, it should be slightly higher than the ground level. Sand storage from June to July, and then spring sowing, so that the seed germination rate can be greatly increased.

III. Horse dung fermentation

Collect seeds in autumn, scald the seeds with hot water and soak them in warm water for 3-5 days. It should be noted that the water should be changed when the water temperature is lower than the body temperature. After soaking, the seeds should be taken out and stirred with horse dung, the ratio is about 1:4. After mixing, put into the dug pit, pit depth 40cm, cover up after putting in, the seeds are heated to about 37 degrees, and the seeds will crack after 1-2 months. After being taken out, the seeds will be sown again in spring. This method can be produced in the same year.

These are the methods introduced by the soil flow Network to improve the germination rate of Hawthorn seeds. Although the mature Hawthorn seeds are very hard and the germination rate is very low, the seeds can be taken when the Hawthorn is not fully mature and the above three methods can be used to promote germination. It can greatly improve the germination rate of Hawthorn seeds.
