Chili can be used as a side dish or as a main dish. It is popular among people in Sichuan, Chongqing, Hunan and other places. For people in other places, it is also a common vegetable. So, what are the planting time and planting methods of pepper? Let's find out together!

1. Planting time of pepper

Chili likes heat and is suitable for growing in mild climate and sunny places, so the planting time varies according to local climatic conditions. For example, in Guangdong, the temperature is higher all year round, so it can be planted at any time, while in other areas, the planting time is generally from March to July, when the temperature and light are suitable for pepper growth. In addition, early sowing can make it grow more fully and harvest more fruits.

Second, the cultivation method of pepper

1. Soil selection and preparation

The root system of pepper is weak, so the requirements for planting soil and conditions are relatively high. It is best to choose an area with sufficient sunlight or gentle slope, because the pepper grown in sufficient sunlight is not only large in size but also good in taste. It should be noted that it cannot be planted in a place without sunshine for a long time. The quality of pepper planted in this way is low. The planting soil is preferably neutral or weakly alkaline. It must not be acidic soil. If the conditions do not meet, the soil acidity is relatively high, and lime powder can be used to neutralize it. If the alkalinity is high, it can be added to the cinder.

2. Sowing seedlings

Disinfection and germination treatment are carried out on the seeds before sowing. The seeds are exposed to sunlight for two days, which can not only improve the germination rate, but also kill the germs carried by the seeds. If the sunlight is not strong before sowing, the seeds can also be soaked in diluted potassium permanganate for sterilization, and then soaked in warm water for about 12 hours. When sowing, the seeds are evenly scattered on the seedbed, covered with soil about 1cm, sprayed with water to make the soil moist, and the temperature is maintained between 25 and 28 DEG C. The seeds can germinate and emerge in about one week. When the seedlings grow to 5 cm, they can be planted.

3. Planting management

Pepper root system is weak, planting to ditch planting or flat planting is appropriate, early planting should not be deeply buried, should be shallow soil, about 2 cm can be, with its growth and gradually cultivated soil, pepper plant type compact, can be planted closely, generally plant spacing between 30-45 cm, row spacing of 50-60 cm, pepper growth is inseparable from water, sufficient moisture, fruit thick and juicy, so frequent watering, always keep the soil moist, but not too wet, Otherwise, it is easy to cause plant root rot. Fungicides can be added regularly when watering to prevent diseases.

The above is the planting time and planting method of pepper sorted out for you. The pepper market demand is large. Paying attention to reasonable and efficient planting methods can greatly increase the yield and improve the economic profits for growers.
