Cherry not only has high nutritional value, but also has a good taste. It is deeply loved by consumers. The price has been high, and the planting prospect is considerable. So where is the origin of cherries? How to cultivate and manage to have good quality?

Where is the origin of cherries?

1. Cherry producing area

The producing areas of cherries in China are mainly concentrated in Shandong, Liaoning, Hebei, Beijing, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, Henan, Hebei, Gansu, Xinjiang, Shaanxi, Hubei, Zhejiang and other regions. Shandong is the main producing area of cherries in China, and the most famous.

2. Cherry varieties

The main varieties of cherries are red lantern, early ruby, Meizao, Daihong big cherry, Jinshan big cherry, early big fruit, Qin cherry No. 1, Brooks, Zaoshengfan, Fu Chen, Molly and so on.

Second, how to cultivate and manage cherries?

1. Requirements for soil plots in the car

Planting cherry should choose the land with fertile soil, deep soil layer and good drainage and irrigation, the pH value is suitable, and the pH value is between 6 and 7.5. Note that cherries cannot be planted in heavy clay, which is not conducive to the absorption of nutrients by the roots.

2. Planting time requirements of cherries

Cherry is more suitable for planting in spring and autumn. In places where it is dry, windy and cold in winter, cherries should be planted in spring, while in warmer places in winter, they should be planted in autumn.

3. Cultivation requirements of cherry

(1) apply good base fertilizer

First, dig deep into the soil, dig a large planting hole after it is ripe, and then apply organic fertilizer into the hole, the dosage is 30-50kg. After the soil and fertilizer are fully mixed, the seedlings can be planted and irrigated with enough rooting water.

(2) burrowing seedlings

When the seedlings are less than 2 years old, the planting holes should be wide 40cm and deep 30cm, and if the seedlings are 3-4 years old, the planting holes with wide 70cm and deep 50cm should be dug out. In addition, we should pay attention to the cultivation density, generally about 200 plants per mu is more appropriate.

4. Daily management of cherry

(1) fertilization

Base fertilizer should be applied every year from mid-September to late October to enhance the tree potential and accumulate more nutrients in the plant. Quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer should be applied before sprouting and flowering, such as livestock manure water, quick-acting chemical fertilizer for a long time, and a certain amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Animal manure and barnyard manure must be applied immediately after fruit harvest, and a certain amount of chemical fertilizer must be applied at the same time.

(2) Disease and pest control

The common diseases of cherry are anthracnose, cherry leaf spot, bacterial perforation, gum disease, root neck rot and so on.

The common pests of cherry are mulberry scale, stinging moth, peach red-necked longicorn beetle, apple winged moth, golden edge gibberellin, beetle, pear heart borer and so on.

It is suggested that appropriate harmless agents can be used for prevention and control.
