From the current planting situation of Chaotian pepper in China, the main producing areas of Chaotian pepper are distributed in Henan, Hebei, Guizhou, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Tianjin, Anhui, Shandong, Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, Hunan and other places.

1. Sowing treatment

The seeds of Chaotian pepper need to be treated before sowing, mainly including seed drying and seed soaking.

(2) soaking seeds

The dried seeds were packed in gauze bags and stirred in 55 ℃ warm water for 15 minutes. After being removed, the seeds were soaked with potassium permanganate or copper sulfate, then washed with clean water for 4 times, and then soaked in water less than 30 ℃ for 8 hours. After being removed, the seeds were slightly dried and then sowed.

2. Planting and field management

It is usually planted when the temperature is close to 20-30 ℃ and is suitable for the growth of Chaotian pepper. After planting, attention should be paid to the work of field management.

(1) watering

Appropriate watering should be carried out before the flood season and after transplanting, following the principle of no drought and immediate watering in case of drought, the amount of water should not be too much, and attention should be paid to not watering at noon in the case of high temperature and drought.

(2) fertilization

Fertilization is mainly aimed at the land with poor growth efficiency or insufficient base fertilizer, combined with rain period and watering period to improve the utilization rate of fertilizer.

(3) weeding

Ploughing after slow seedling, rain and watering helps to reduce weeds and promote crop growth.

(4) Disease and pest control

For Chaotian pepper, the focus of pest control is blight, anthracnose, virus, cotton bollworm and tea yellow mite and so on. Low toxicity and high efficiency pesticides can be selected for control.
