Broad bean originated from North Africa and Southwest Asia. The main areas of broad bean in China include Gansu, Qinghai and other areas with high altitude. Among them, the planting of broad bean in Gansu Province is mainly distributed in Linxia County, Hezheng County, Kangle County of Linxia Prefecture, Weiyuan County, Zhang County County and Minxian County of Dingxi City, Zhangjiachuan County and Wushan County of Tianshui City, Jingyuan County and Huining County of Baiyin City, etc. The planting modes include open field, plastic film and waste agricultural film reuse cultivation technology.

1. Select high-quality broad bean varieties

At present, the varieties with big grain, high quality and high yield include "Japan Osaka Bean","Tongxian 2","Tongxian 3","Tongcan Fresh 6","Qidou 5","Haimen Daqing (white) Skin" and so on.

4. Fertilization requirements

For infertile plots, urea should be applied at the seedling stage of broad bean to promote seedling growth, and early branching is conducive to flowering and pod setting. Compound fertilizer and urea were applied once at initial flowering stage and pod bearing stage respectively. For broad bean fields with fresh pods harvested, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate +0.3% urea +0.2% boron fertilizer solution can be sprayed on leaves according to the growth and seedling frame conditions for 1~2 times every time the green pods are harvested.

Broad bean flowering period or autumn aphids easily, thus inducing virus disease, so the need for irregular pest control. If it is a large-scale planting of broad beans, it is recommended to carry out pest control through unmanned aerial vehicle operation, the effect is better.
