Chrysanthemum is the third of the top ten famous flowers in China, one of the four gentlemen in flowers, and one of the four cut flowers in the world. Because of the praise given to it by Tao Yuanming's poem "drinking", it was named "hermit in flowers". So, what are the varieties of chrysanthemums? What is the planting method and time?

What are the varieties of chrysanthemums?

1. According to the florescence, summer chrysanthemum can be divided into summer chrysanthemum (59 chrysanthemum), autumn chrysanthemum and cold chrysanthemum (winter chrysanthemum). Summer chrysanthemum blossoms once in May and September of the lunar calendar; autumn chrysanthemum blossoms early and late in mid-September and late chrysanthemum in October-November. Han chrysanthemum blossoms from December to January of the following year.

2. According to the flower diameter, it can be divided into big chrysanthemum, medium chrysanthemum and small chrysanthemum. The flower diameter of big chrysanthemum is more than 10 centimeters, the diameter of middle chrysanthemum is between 6-10 centimeters, and the flower diameter of small chrysanthemum is less than 6 centimeters.

3. According to the flower color, it can be divided into monochromatic chrysanthemum, polychromatic chrysanthemum, monochromatic chrysanthemum refers to the same color, there are yellow, white, purple, red, pink, green, ink, brown, mud gold, snow green, etc.; polychromatic chrysanthemum refers to more than two kinds of colors, such as the back of petals, the ends of petals and the heart of petals.

4. According to the flower type, it can be divided into flat-petal chrysanthemum, key-petal chrysanthemum, tube-petal chrysanthemum, cinnamon chrysanthemum, deformed chrysanthemum, flat-petal chrysanthemum tongue-shaped flower is the middle type between flat petal and tube petal, tube-petal chrysanthemum tongue flower is tubular extension, cinnamon chrysanthemum tongue flower is flat petal or spoon petal or tube petal 1-3 whorls, the petals of deformed chrysanthemum are peculiar, such as burr petal, dragon claw petal and scissors petal.

Second, the planting method and time introduction of chrysanthemum!

1. Planting methods of chrysanthemum.

(1) soil: chrysanthemum prefers sandy loam with high dry topography, deep soil layer, rich humus, easy fertility and good drainage, and can grow in slightly acidic to neutral soil, while PH6.2-6.7is better. The cultivated soil can be mixed with 1ap3 rice bran ash, and the rotten leaf soil, sand and cake fertilizer and residue can be arranged at the proportion of 6:3:1.

(2) Propagation: there are two methods of propagation of chrysanthemum: vegetative propagation and seed propagation, vegetative propagation includes stem cutting, ramet, grafting, striping and tissue culture, usually cutting propagation is the main method, and novice can use seed propagation method. Buy the seeds in the florist, mix them with a certain amount of sand, spread them on the seedling bed, cover the soil with about one centimeter, water thoroughly after sowing, maintain the soil moisture and keep the temperature at about 18 ℃.

(3) temperature: chrysanthemum likes to be warm and cold-tolerant, the flower can withstand micro-frost, and the rhizome can survive the winter underground in severe winter, but the seedling growth and branching bud stage need higher temperature. The suitable temperature for growth is 18-21 ℃, the highest is 32 ℃, and the lowest is 10 ℃. The limit of low temperature tolerance of underground rhizome is-10 ℃, the lowest night temperature at flowering stage is 17 ℃, and it can be reduced to 15-13 ℃ at middle and post-flowering stage.

(4) Light: chrysanthemum likes sunlight and tolerates shade slightly. Chrysanthemum is a plant with long night day. It grows nutritionally under 14.5 hours of long sunshine every day. Darkness of more than 12 hours a day and night temperature of 10 ℃ are suitable for flower bud development, but the response of different varieties to sunshine is different.

(5) watering: chrysanthemums are more resistant to dryness and avoid waterlogging. When watering, water should be watered again when the basin soil becomes dry, and if it is not watered, it should be watered thoroughly and cannot accumulate water. Chrysanthemum seedlings are young in spring and should be watered less; when chrysanthemum seedlings grow up in summer, watering should be sufficient; water should be properly controlled before the Beginning of Autumn to prevent plants from rising and growing; water should be increased before the Beginning of Autumn blossoms; and flower branches basically stop growing in winter and watering must be strictly controlled.

(6) fertilization: adequate base fertilizer should be applied before planting, and then nitrogen fertilizer can be applied every 10 days, slightly thicker fertilizer and water should be applied once a week from budding to budding, and once again after flowering, fertilization should be suspended.

(7) coring: when the plant grows to more than 10 cm high, you can start to pick the heart and retain 4-5 leaves at the base; when you grow 6 new leaves, you can pick the heart again, retain 4-7 main branches, and the branches and buds that grow later should be removed in time; for the last time, remove too many, too strong and too weak branches, and retain 3 Mel 5 branches; pick the buds at the lower end of the plant when budding, leaving only one top bud on each branch.

2. Planting time of chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum has cutting, ramet, grafting, striping, sowing and other propagation methods, different propagation methods, different planting time. If it is a cuttage, it is generally carried out in April; if it is a ramet, it is generally carried out in March; if it is grafted, it can be carried out in May; if it is striping, it can be carried out in June; if it is sowing, it can be carried out in February-April.

The above is the introduction of chrysanthemum varieties, planting methods and time. I hope it will be useful to you.
