1. Variety selection
At present, there are many varieties of Chinese cabbage, such as red cabbage, Chinese cabbage, 49 Chinese cabbage, green cabbage, willow leaf, and so on. Planting Chinese cabbage needs to choose suitable varieties according to the local climate, planting conditions, market demand and market situation, so as to achieve the greatest economic benefits.
2. Sowing seeds at the right time
Now there are many varieties of Chinese cabbage, so there are different varieties of Chinese cabbage that can be planted in different seasons. secondly, the technology of growing vegetables out of season is becoming more and more perfect, and there is no clear stipulation for the time of planting. But it is generally planted in March and August and September every year, and the Chinese cabbage planted in these two periods belongs to the normal planting time, which is the best time for the growth of Chinese cabbage. At the same time, the quality of cabbage heart planted during this period is better.
3. Sowing method
There are three most commonly used planting methods of Chinese cabbage, namely, direct seeding, strip sowing and seedling transplanting. Direct seeding is mainly to sprinkle seeds evenly on the whole ground, and wait for interseedling and replenishment after emergence. Generally, seedlings are carried out according to the distance of 20 to 30 centimeters between each plant, and each plant only needs to leave two seedlings. Strip sowing first needs to make small ditches 10 centimeters wide and three to five centimeters deep according to the distance of 30 centimeters between each row, and then evenly sow the seeds into the ditch to cover the seeds. finally, after emergence, the seedlings are replenished at a distance of about 25 centimeters, while transplanting requires the cultivation of cabbage seedlings and then planting at a distance of 30 to 35 centimeters per row and 20 to 25 centimeters per plant.
4. Field management
The field management of Chinese cabbage is mainly fertilization, watering and weeding. Fertilization needs to be carried out according to the growth habits of Chinese cabbage. The first fertilization is usually after planting, and the second fertilization is when the cabbage heart begins to form. Secondly, fertilization can be carried out after each harvest of Chinese cabbage, and each fertilization can be combined with weeding, which can reduce the loss of nutrients and promote the absorption of nutrients. Chinese cabbage has a relatively large demand for water, so it is necessary to keep the moisture in the field at about 70%, irrigate it every other week or so without rainfall, and finally discharge the water out of the field in time when Rain Water is more, so as not to affect the growth of Chinese cabbage.
5. Pest control
At present, the resistance of Chinese cabbage is relatively strong, and there are basically no diseases, of which the most common are cabbage aphids, rollers and moths. These pests mainly harm the stems and leaves of Chinese cabbage. The main edible part of Chinese cabbage is its tender stems and leaves. When pests occur, we can use trichlorfon or dimethoate milk to treat them. Finally, it should be noted that no chemicals can be sprayed about half a month before harvest, which will affect the quality of cabbage heart and may even cause food poisoning in serious cases.
