Comprehensive agricultural development strongly supports the construction of soil and water conservation projects
In 2015, the central government allocated 585 million yuan for soil and water conservation projects for comprehensive agricultural development, mainly focusing on the ecologically fragile areas such as the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, the black land in the northeast and the karst areas in the southwest. To improve the ecological environment and agricultural production conditions, the construction of the project involves 15 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) and the General Administration of Land Reclamation of Heilongjiang Province.
After the implementation of the project, it is estimated that the soil erosion control area will be increased by 1931 square kilometers, the soil erosion will be reduced by 6.01 million tons, the vegetation coverage will be increased by 8%, the grain production capacity will be increased by 25 million kg, and the economic forest and fruit products will be increased by 70.15 million kg.
