Garlic is a kind of rich seasoning, especially in the dish, especially the fragrance, deeply loved by everyone. Eating garlic also has certain benefits to people's health, some places eat it directly raw, but the smell is relatively heavy, it is difficult for ordinary people to accept. Garlic refers to the root of garlic, and its sprouting leaves are also edible. Today, let's take a look at how garlic is grown at home and in the open field.

1. Family planting methods of garlic

1. Prepare the basin soil

Prepare a flowerpot with a depth of about 20cm, you can choose the material of the mud pot, which is more conducive to the growth of garlic. The soil planted with garlic generally needs to be fertile, loose and permeable, which is more conducive to the growth and development of garlic. In addition, base fertilizer must be added to the soil to meet its growth needs.

2. Prepare garlic seeds

We have to choose undamaged, rotten, healthy and complete garlic as the seed, and then break it one by one without removing the outer skin, and then soak it in water for about 3-4 hours.

3. Sow garlic

Plant the soaked garlic bottom down in the basin soil, to maintain a certain distance, otherwise it will affect its growth. Then cover the garlic with a thin layer of soil, which must not be too thick, and then pour water thoroughly. It will sprout in 3-5 days.

Second, the method of planting garlic in open field

1. Choose garlic seeds

Seed selection is the key factor for high yield of garlic. generally, garlic with strong disease resistance, intact epidermis, large size and no decay should be selected as seeds. Then when the grains are broken, they should be screened again to avoid mildew, saccharification and the loss of garlic. After everything is done, it should be exposed to the sun for about 2 days, the main purpose is to disinfect and reduce the occurrence of diseases.

2. Choose the right sowing time

In addition to choosing good garlic seeds, sowing time is also critical. If you sow too early, it will make the seedlings grow too vigorously and consume too much nutrients before overwintering, then overwintering will be difficult. If the sowing time is too late, it will shorten the growth period of garlic, resulting in too small seedlings, fragile roots, low resistance, low yield and poor marketability. The specific sowing time should be determined according to the region, because the geographical environment and climate types of each place are different. Generally, the sowing time in North China is about September-October, that is, the early season of the Autumn Equinox at the end of Bailu. At this time, the temperature is not very low, basically maintained at about 15-18 ℃. The spring sowing time of garlic in Northeast China is generally about April, while that in the western region is generally concentrated from March to April in spring and October in autumn. The southwest region chooses to sow seeds in autumn, probably from August to September.

3. Daily management

Weeding: herbicide closure is carried out before germination after emergence.

Water and fertilizer: garlic watering should be determined in different periods, generally at seedling stage, before overwintering, returning to green stage, and garlic bolting differentiation period. Usually pay attention to watering small amount of water, not too much at one time.

Insect prevention: garlic pests should be prevented and treated in time, and the right medicine should be given to the case in the event of the invasion of diseases and insect pests.
