Lily is our common green plant, can also be known as leek, Shandan, inverted immortal, Chongmai, atrium, Moro and so on, originated in our country, and according to more than 100 varieties found in the world, half of them come from China. Now the experience of artificial cultivation is more and more abundant, and there are more and more new varieties of lilies. So when is the best time to grow lilies? How should I trim it?

When will lilies be planted?

Lily planting can be divided into two aspects: temperature planting and seasonal planting.

1. Temperature planting

Because of the difference between the north and the south of our country, the temperature in the south and the north is different every year, so planting lilies also needs to be distinguished. According to the cultivation experience of various regions, the most suitable germination temperature of lily is between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius.

As long as you plant lilies at this temperature, and then water and fertilize a lot, there is no problem if you want to feed. Some friends who grow green plants say that lilies are cool flowers and are very suitable for survival in areas with large temperature differences between day and night.

2. Seasonal planting

In addition to the difference in temperature between the north and the south, many friends plant lilies according to the seasons. Lily is a large-scale planting season in spring and autumn every year. It is generally concentrated in November-March and August-September every year, during which the temperature is suitable and the environment is more favorable for the growth of lilies. If you want to plant lilies in a large area, it is recommended that you sow them in spring and they will blossom in two to three years.

Note: before sowing, you can carefully examine the seeds under the light and select the well-developed seeds to sow, which is more beneficial to the growth in the future.

How to trim the lilies?

We prune lilies mainly in order that they can grow better, and then make the shape of green plants more beautiful, which can not only improve the ornamental quality but also prevent the dead branches from absorbing nutrients.

1. Water-raised lilies: for water-raised lilies, a pruning should be carried out just before insertion. Cut off a section of the bottom obliquely and insert it into the soil to better absorb nutrients from the soil.

2. Soil-raised lilies: soil-raised plants are best cut obliquely, which can protect the flowers, leaving three or four buds at the base of the cut branches.

Whether it is water-raised or soil-raised lilies, we should form the habit of regular pruning to avoid withered and diseased branches. Accumulating more is disadvantageous to the growing shoots.

This is the end of the question about lilies today. If you are interested in raising lilies, you can go to the flower market and find professionals to learn some daily skills and experience, so that it is more convenient for you to buy them.
