Red bayberry is a special fruit tree in China, the whole body is a treasure, its root, stem, branch, leaf, fruit, stone, all have high utilization value. So what is the seedling method of bayberry planting?

1. Seedling raising methods of Myrica rubra

1. Close sowing and raising seedlings

(1) seed collection

Collect strong, fully ripe fruit (preferably fallen fruit) and pour it into a bucket (basin), place it in running water, rub all ears and float off the pulp, spread the seeds in a cool place to dry.

(2) Land preparation

Select the land with sufficient light, good drainage and irrigation and deep soil layer as seedling bed, spread calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer (0.1kg / m ~ 2) evenly, then rake, level and open the drainage ditch.

(3) sowing

Sow the dried seeds densely on the seedling bed with a density of non-stacking layer (2.5cm / m2), cover the seeds with fine sand or fine fertile soil (thickness ≤ 1cm), wet the seedbed with clean water, cover with agricultural film, cover with soil and weeds (thickness > 10cm), before and after the Beginning of Spring send out root buds ("dew white").

(4) Arch membrane

The Beginning of Spring regularly checked the physiological dynamics of the seeds before and after, and found signs of "showing white", that is, timely light removal of the mulch on the film and changing the flat film to arch film.

(5) promoting seedlings

After the arch film, pay attention to the regulation of temperature, humidity and gas (the two ends of the arch shed should be cooled and ventilated in 10-16 hours in sunny days, and clear water should be sprayed once every 3-7 days) to strictly prevent rodent damage; when the seedlings grow to two leaves, they should uncover the whole film to refine seedlings and promote growth during the day tomorrow.

2. Seedling transplanting

(1) Land preparation

Select the land with sufficient light, deep soil layer and good drainage and irrigation as nursery land, spread insecticide (control of underground pests), calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer and compound fertilizer (0.1 kg ~ 0.4 kg / m2 each), plough deeply, plough and level off, and open the drainage ditch.

(2) transplanting seedlings

When the seedling has 3 leaves and 1 heart, transplant it sooner or later in cloudy or sunny day (plant row spacing is 12 × 20 cm), planting properly, evenly, shallowly (not showing roots), and watering enough water to fix roots.

3. Promote strong seedlings

(1) Fertilizer and water management

On a sunny day within a week after transplanting, water should be filled once a day, and in case of drought, it should be watered in time. When the seedlings resume growth, quick-acting root fertilizer and leaf fertilizer should be replenished irregularly.

(2) Disease and pest control

The resistance of bayberry seedlings is strong, and there is no need for pesticide application. If there are diseases and insect pests, sterilization and insecticides can be sprayed on the symptoms.

(3) remove weeds

In particular, it is necessary to "eliminate the small" and "except" from May to July.

(4) controlling height and thickening.

Roughness is the key index for the emergence of red bayberry seedlings. When the seedling height is more than 40 cm, repeated coring and spraying "dwarf" and "paclobutrazol" can be used to thicken the seedling to ensure that it comes out of the nursery in the same year (up to the grafting specification).

2. Planting conditions of red bayberry seedlings

1. Altitude conditions

Red bayberry seedlings should be planted in gentle slopes of 1300-1800 meters above sea level.

2. Temperature condition

The most suitable annual average temperature for the growth of bayberry seedlings is generally 15-21 ℃, the absolute lowest temperature is-9 ℃, and the highest monthly average temperature is not more than 28 ℃.

3. Rainfall and humidity

The growth of bayberry seedlings requires annual rainfall of about 1000 mm and annual average relative humidity of more than 70%.

4. Soil conditions

Red bayberry seedlings are suitable to grow on soft, well-drained, gravel-rich sandy red soil and yellow soil. The PH value of soil is between 4.5 and 5.5. there are some plants such as wolf fern, rhododendron, pine, fir, Phyllostachys pubescens and Quercus variabilis. Through the planting practice, it is proved that the bayberry seedlings planted on Yanggang stone soil can hang fruit early, mature early and taste sweet.

5. Slope direction and wind

Red bayberry seedlings should be planted on mountain slopes with convenient transportation and water sources. The requirement of slope direction is not strict, no matter which slope direction can be planted. It is not suitable to plant in areas where the wind is too strong, because the wind is too strong, which will affect pollination and yield, and the trees are easily damaged by the wind.
