Summer celery seedlings coincide with high temperature, high humidity, strong light weather, in this weather celery sprouting is difficult, so celery summer planting is very particular, so what are the summer celery planting time and methods?

Planting time of celery in summer

Celery likes cold and cold tolerance, and belongs to semi-cold-tolerant vegetable. The seeds begin to germinate at 4 ℃, the optimum temperature for germination is 15: 20 ℃, the germination rate is decreased or prolonged, but the seedlings can endure the low temperature of-4 ℃ ℃, the adult plant can tolerate the low temperature of 8 ℃, but the quality of celery decreases after freezing. The optimum temperature for celery growth is 20: 22 ℃ in daytime and 13 ℃ at night. The suitable ground temperature is 15-23 ℃, which is usually kept above 5 ℃ at night in order to ensure the normal growth of celery.

Summer celery should be raised in the open field after breaking frost in spring, planted in June to early July, and harvested and put on the market from August to September. In the hot and rainy season, summer celery has poor growth, many dead seedlings, low yield and small planting area.

Second, the planting method of celery in summer

1. Sowing and raising seedlings

(1) selection of seedbed

Celery likes cold and cool climate, and its seedbed should choose a site with loose and thick soil, fertile, convenient drainage and irrigation, and shade. 100 kilograms of lime per mu of soil should be deeply turned into the soil and burned too white.

(2) Land preparation and border formation

The width of the border is about 1 meter, and 2000 kilograms of human and animal dung are applied to one mu of soil. After drying, the surface of the border is crushed and leveled, and 1 kilogram of carbofuran is added in the soil preparation process to eliminate earthworms.

(3) soaking seeds to accelerate germination.

Pack the seeds in a cloth bag, tie up one end of the long rope and dip them in the well water for 48 hours, then hang the seeds about 0.5 meters above the water surface for germination, and germinate in 3-4 days. When more than 80% of the seeds germinate, they can be sowed. If there is no well, they can be germinated in the ground hole or in the refrigerator freezer, that is, after soaking in cold water for 48 hours, take out and dry the surface moisture. Wrap it up and put it in the freezer for 24 hours.

(4) seeding rate

One mu of field needs 500 grams, and one mu of seedbed can sow celery seeds of 2 kilograms. When sowing, mix the germinated seeds with old bran ash or dry soil and sow them evenly. After sowing, gently pat the border surface and sprinkle water with a spray can. Pay attention to cover the sunshade net to cool and prevent rain in summer.

2. Seedbed management

Generally, the fine weather is watered once every evening, and the sunny, hot and dry weather is watered once every morning and evening. After finishing the seedlings, start topdressing, apply light dung and water every 7 days, and pay attention to the control of aphids.

3. Soil preparation and fertilization

Celery cultivation should choose sandy loam rich in organic matter, water and fertilizer conservation, 150kg quicklime per mu deeply turned into the soil, baked too white, and turned into a border soil about 1.67m wide, 1D0 kg per mu, 200kg of human and animal dung, 20kg of urea, 40kg of phosphate fertilizer, 10kg of 15kg potash fertilizer, turned shallowly into the soil, leveled and fine, and it can be planted for 5 days.

4. Colonization

When the seedling age reaches 5060 days and the seedling height is 1215 cm, the seedling can be planted. Insecticides should be sprayed before pulling seedlings (such as killing the enemy, etc.). 4 hours before pulling seedlings, water should be watered to make the bed soil fully moist. The planting row spacing is 16ml 26cm, the cluster spacing is about 1cm, each clump has 5 plants, while planting, the pressure pocket water is poured.

5. Field management

After the seedlings are planted, they should be watered every morning and evening before they survive, and pay attention to checking the seedlings to ensure the whole seedling. Manure water should be applied frequently after planting to keep the soil moist. Before the closure, shallow and medium ploughing was done 3 times. In the high temperature and drought season, the early growth period should cover the sunshade net or build a frame to cover the wool string shade on the greenhouse or on the small arch shed. In case of special drought, ditch irrigation can be carried out in the morning and evening when the water temperature is low. Do not fill the upper compartment with water. After it is moist, the water should be drained quickly to maintain the normal growth of celery.

6. Control of diseases and insect pests

The main diseases and insect pests of celery are spot blight and spot disease, which can be controlled by Dysen zinc, carbendazim or chlorothalonil, and the main pests are aphids. Can be killed by enemies or dimethoate.
