Coconut is a popular tropical fruit with high economic value. Today, the editor will introduce to you the matters needing attention in coconut planting.

1. Time

The time of coconut planting mainly has a lot to do with the local climatic conditions. in general, for example, the temperature in Hainan is relatively mild throughout the year, so we will choose to plant it in April and May. The rainfall at this time is also relatively large, and the temperature is basically up to the standard needed for coconut planting, and it can be planted in some places in 1990. It depends on the conditions of the planting place.

2. Temperature

The temperature suitable for coconut growth is generally about 25 to 28 degrees, the lowest growth temperature can not be lower than 13 degrees, the highest temperature can not be higher than 38 degrees, if the temperature is lower than 13 degrees, the coconut tree will enter the dormancy stage, so it will not blossom and bear fruit, although coconut likes the high temperature and rainy environment, the temperature should not be too high, otherwise it will also damage the coconut water itself. Thus affecting the fruit amount of coconut trees, so in the usual management, the temperature should be strictly monitored and reasonably regulated.

3. Density

The density of coconut planting is mainly divided into two stages, the first is the seedling stage, when the coconut tree is still relatively small, in order to make full use of land resources, generally according to 40 to 45 cm per row, each plant 35 to 40 cm distance to sow seedlings, when the coconut seedlings grow to a certain size, it is necessary to transplant, when transplanting should pay attention to bring the original base soil In this way, the survival rate will be higher, and then planted at a distance of eight to nine meters between rows and six to seven meters apart, so that each coconut tree can have full photosynthesis, thus increasing the yield of coconut.

4. Fertilizer and water

Check the survival of the coconut tree seven to ten days after planting, and replenish the seedlings in time, properly block the sun, so as not to damage the growth of the root system, and water reasonably, the growth of the coconut tree needs a lot of nutrients, mainly potash fertilizer, which can increase the amount of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer. If it is found that the stem of the coconut tree is very thin and shows symptoms of withering, the phenomenon of lack of potassium fertilizer is found. To apply fertilizer in time, while coconut yellowing requires topdressing chlorine fertilizer, each fertilization is carried out by trenching ring application, and only two fertilizers are needed a year, that is, around April and May in spring and December in winter.

5. Diseases and insect pests

Coconut pest control is a place that we need to pay special attention to, in which the main diseases and insect pests that harm the growth of coconut trees are diarrhoea and red brown elephant larvae, scale insects and coconut rhinoceros, etc., we need to dig up the damaged parts, and then apply a layer of Bordeaux solution for disinfection and control, while pests can be trapped and killed with tar, ammonium sulfite and rotting dried coconut respectively.

The above are the points for attention in coconut planting. I hope I can help you!
