The dragon fruit belongs to the cactus family or the snake whip column belongs to the perennial vine, which is a tropical and subtropical fruit, so where is the origin of the dragon fruit? What are the requirements for the growth environment?

Where is the origin of dragon fruit?

The fire dragon fruit sold in the domestic market is mainly from Vietnam, Thailand, Guangxi, Hainan and other regions, the price is about 612 yuan / kg. Purple red dragon (red skin and red meat) the retail price of fire dragon fruit is about 20 yuan / kg.

Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and Fujian are the first areas to introduce dragon fruit from Taiwan for large-scale planting. At present, a number of large-scale dragon fruit farms have been established and become important producing areas of commercial dragon fruit.

Especially in Hainan, Hainan has plenty of sunshine and rainfall, and is located in the tropics. The climate is suitable for dragon fruit production throughout the year, which is known as the laudatory of "natural greenhouse".

The planting scale of Hainan dragon fruit is increasing day by day, and now it has become one of the main producing areas in China.

Second, what are the requirements for the growth environment of dragon fruit?

1. Temperature

The temperature dragon fruit is native to the tropics, and the most suitable growth temperature is 25: 35 ℃. It will stop growing below 10 ℃ and above 38 ℃ and resist the unsuitable environmental temperature by dormancy. Too high temperature will inhibit the formation of flower buds, resulting in no blossom and fruit. Frost injury can occur at low temperature below 5 ℃, and young buds, twigs and some mature branches are frostbitten to death.

2. Soil

Pitaya can adapt to a variety of soils and can grow in hillside, flat land, sandy soil, red soil, yellow soil, alluvial soil, purple soil, loam and sandy loam. But it is better to use neutral soil and weakly acidic soil which contain more humus and preserve water and fertilizer.

3. Moisture

Open field cultivation in spring and summer should be watered more, so that its roots to maintain a state of vigorous growth, in the rainy weather should be timely drainage, so as not to be infected with bacteria causing stem and flesh rot. The stem can also grow on the rock, and the plant is extremely resistant to wind, as long as the bracket is strong enough to resist typhoon.

4. Lighting

The dragon fruit likes light and is resistant to shade, with an average annual sunshine percentage of 26%-50%, so it is more suitable to grow in areas with sufficient light, but in the summer high temperature season, in case of continuous high temperature and extremely hot weather, sunshade nets should be added appropriately to prevent burns caused by long-term exposure, but the shade had better not exceed 50%.

Generally speaking, the dragon fruit grows rapidly and has more buds in a warm, humid and well-lit environment. If the light condition is not enough, it will affect its normal flowering.
