After the garlic is sprouted, many people have the idea of simply planting the garlic. In fact, this is also feasible, and you can try hydroponics. So how to grow garlic in hydroponics after germination?

I. characteristics of hydroponic garlic

Hydroponic garlic refers to a kind of soilless garlic in which most of the roots of garlic grow in the nutrient liquid layer and provide water and nutrients only through the nutrient solution. Specific features include:

1. The root system is mainly milky white capillary root, which is used to absorb water and nutrition.

2. the root system adapts to the aquatic environment, and there are some aerial roots in the periphery to absorb oxygen.

3. The growth cycle is short and garlic leaves can be eaten as soon as possible.

2. the method of hydroponic culture of garlic.

1. Variety selection

Garlic varieties with good yield, strong stress resistance, strong growth, strong cold tolerance, high bolting rate, storage resistance, good quality and large market demand are suitable for hydroponic cultivation of "red garlic" or "white garlic".

2. Seed treatment

Choose fresh garlic with large, uniform and neat cloves and bright colors as seeds, generally requiring a 100-grain weight of more than 400g. 1-3 days before sowing, the garlic head was peeled and divided, the trays and stem trays of the garlic head were removed and graded according to the size of the seeds, so as to facilitate the emergence of seedlings after planting and facilitate field management; the garlic was evenly distributed and dried in the sun the day before planting, which could effectively kill fungi and be beneficial to rooting.

3. Selection of hydroponic containers.

Because garlic is relatively small, a filter layer will be used in the selection of hydroponic containers to prevent all garlic from being immersed in water and causing hydroponic failure. In addition, it should be noted that the "water" used in hydroponic vegetables is a nutrient solution, not ordinary "water", which contains all kinds of nutrients needed for the growth of vegetables and can be recycled instead of soil.

4. Sowing seeds at the right time

The most suitable time for garlic sowing is to make the plant grow with 5-6 leaves before overwintering, when the plant has strong cold resistance, does not freeze to death in the severe winter, and lays a good foundation for the plant to pass vernalization smoothly.

The emergence rate of early sowing is low, and it is easy to appear compound garlic. The overgrowth of seedlings before winter consumes excessive nutrients, reduces the overwintering ability, and may also carry out vernalization again to reduce the yield and quality of garlic. Sowing too late, short growth time before winter, small seedlings before overwintering, tender tissue, weak accumulation of nutrients in roots, low cold resistance and high mortality during overwintering, thus affecting the yield and quality of garlic.

5. Daily management

Generally, seedlings can emerge after sowing for 7 days. At this time, as long as the hydroponic garlic is exposed to the sun, the nutrient solution can be replenished in time.
