Garlic seedling is a kind of vegetable that people like to eat very much. it eats fresh green leaves and white and red pseudo-stems, so how do you want to grow garlic seedlings at home?

I. selection of soil and planting containers

Select the sandy loam or loam soil with deep, fertile, loose and good drainage, and plant the sandy loam or loam soil with grain crops or non-onion and garlic vegetables as the previous stubble, and deeply plough the loose soil before sowing.

Due to the limited location at home, you can choose a suitable container for soil planting. Such as large foam boxes, wide-mouthed flowerpots and so on.

II. Seed selection and sowing

1. Seed selection

Should choose precocious, neat and full, no disease spot, no mildew, no moth, no mechanical injury, no terminal bud injury, suitable for local planting, not easy to degenerate, thick leaves, fresh leaves, thick and long pseudostem garlic cloves, such as Zhangye white garlic, Ledu white garlic and so on.

2. Seed treatment

Disinfect the garlic seed before planting, spray the fungicide carbendazim or chlorothalonil evenly on the garlic seed, spread the garlic seed on the wet ground, thick 7~10cm, turn the seed once every 3-5 days, make the garlic seed moisturized evenly and have neat roots. After 15-20 days, most of the garlic cloves send out white roots and can be sown.

3. Sowing seeds

Generally, when the temperature is stable at 17-19 ℃, early garlic is sown from late April to early May, and late garlic is sown from late May to early June. The seeds should be graded and oriented when sowing, so as to facilitate management. Garlic seeds should be placed upright, not uneven up and down, so as to make the thickness of the covered soil consistent, keep the seedling emergence neatly, and the planting depth is 4~5cm. The thickness of the covered soil is generally appropriate to bury the tip of garlic cloves.

III. Daily management

1. Watering

The garlic cloves were watered once after sowing to promote the germination of garlic cloves. After emergence, water for raising seedlings should be watered again. After the ground is dry, in order to prevent soil consolidation, shallow tillage should be used to cultivate soil and preserve soil moisture. In the future, it will be watered at the right time depending on the weather and soil moisture. Avoid flooding when watering to avoid soil consolidation. So as not to cause rotten seeds and yellow garlic seedlings.

2. Fertilization

On the basis of applying sufficient base fertilizer, it should be applied less many times according to the growth of seedlings. Nitrogen fertilizer was the main fertilizer in the early stage of fertilization to promote the growth of seedlings. Chase once every 15 days, a total of three times. 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate was sprayed on the leaves every 7 days for a total of three times to prevent premature senescence.

3. Pest control

(1) Control of root maggots

When applying fertilizer, it is necessary to fully mature the organic fertilizer and cover the soil deeply, or apply more plant ash fertilizer (preferably around the root of the plant) to reduce its chance of spawning. If necessary, flood irrigation once can reduce the occurrence of garlic maggots.

During the occurrence of adult root maggots, brown sugar water, vinegar and water were mixed with 1 ∶ 1 ∶ 2.5.Then sawdust and trichlorfon were mixed well, and put into the trap basin to trap and kill the adults in garlic field.

(2) Prevention and treatment of purple spot.

The optimal temperature for purple spot disease was 25 ~ 27 ℃, and it was not affected when it was lower than 12 ℃. The disease is usually severe in warm, rainy or wet summers.

At the initial stage of the disease, 70% mancozeb wettable powder was sprayed 500 times, 30% copper oxychloride suspension 600 times 800 times, once in 7 days, 2 times in succession.
