Pepper is now one of the indispensable vegetables all the year round. With the continuous optimization of pepper varieties, the planting benefit of pepper is becoming more and more considerable, so how to grow pepper? How to apply fertilizer?

How to grow chili peppers?

1. Select excellent pepper varieties.

For example, there are Korean Beauty Pepper, Line Pepper (Erjing Tiao), Chaotian Pepper (Materia Medica, Yanhong, Pepper Zhongyu), dried Pepper (Kun Tai) and so on.

2. Seedbed preparation

To raise seedlings in open field, the plots with leeward and sunny, loose soil, fertile soil, convenient drainage and irrigation and no eggplant fruit vegetables were planted in the previous crop. The nursery bed was made according to the standard of border width 1 m and length 8-10 m, and 50kg and 40kg were applied as base fertilizer.

3. Sowing seeds at the right time

There are also differences in the sowing time of pepper with different varieties and different regions. If chili peppers are cultivated in spring in protected areas, they are usually sown and raised seedlings from January to February.

In order to prevent and cure the common and frequent pepper anthracnose, virus disease and bacterial spot disease, high-quality and high-yield varieties were selected and the seeds were pre-soaked in clean water for 5 hours. then remove and drain in 1% copper sulfate solution, 10% trisodium phosphate solution, 2% sodium hydroxide solution for 10 minutes, to disinfect and sterilize, and then rinse with clean water for sprouting.

4. Seedling raising and planting

When the pepper seedlings grow to 5 or 6 true leaves, choose to remove the arch film step by step and refine the seedlings when the climate is cool in the morning and evening. The seedlings can be transplanted in real time, and an epidemic prevention agent must be sprayed before transplanting.

Transplanting with soil as far as possible, the planting depth of the seedling should not bury the cotyledons, the root should not be in direct contact with fertilizer, root burning should be prevented, and the plastic film should be covered with enough fixed root water and spraying insecticide once, and then the seedling should be broken to cover the soil and seal. The planting density is generally not less than 1800 ponds per mu, which can be planted in single row or double row.

Second, how to apply fertilizer to plant chili?

On the basis of applying sufficient base fertilizer, light seedling fertilizer, stable flower bud fertilizer and heavy fruit promoting fertilizer should be applied according to different growth periods.

The light application of seedling fertilizer is that after the pepper is planted and survived, the seedling fertilizer is applied in combination with irrigation in the middle tillage, and 1000kg or urea 5~6kg in human feces and urine are applied as seedling fertilizer per mu after transplanting for about 15 days. The budding of hot pepper marks the beginning of reproductive growth, and the general application of 1000~1500kg or compound fertilizer 15~20kg in human feces and urine per mu can promote more branches and fruits. Re-application of fruit fertilizer is based on the growth of hot pepper, human feces and urine 1000~1500kg or compound fertilizer 15~20kg is applied per mu at the initial stage of fruit harvest, or 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate is used for foliar spraying.

Topdressing is applied by hole application, breaking the membrane and applying fertilizer at the place away from the root 8~10cm, and covering the soil, watering the seedlings; it can also be applied diagonally in each pond, requiring uniform fertilization.

Warm reminder: after planting, weeding is carried out to loosen the soil and promote the growth of lateral roots. In order to prevent lodging, an appropriate amount of soil should be cultivated in combination with weeding. The temperature begins to rise after transplanting, and adequate water should be supplied by irrigation at the right time.
