The output of summer and autumn vegetables in northern high latitudes, winter and spring vegetables in the Yangtze River basin, and summer and autumn vegetables on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau increased by 13.4%, 6.2% and 4.6% respectively compared with the same period last year; the output of summer and autumn vegetables in the Loess Plateau decreased by 12.0% compared with the same period last year; the output of winter and spring vegetables in South China and southwest hot areas and Huang-Huai-Hai and facilities vegetable advantage areas around the Bohai Sea were the same as the same period last year. In terms of categories, among the 20 categories of vegetables, the output of 8 categories of vegetables, such as tomato, zucchini, radish, eggplant, common cabbage, cauliflower, chili, and kidney beans, increased by more than 3% compared with the same period last year; the output of 9 kinds of vegetables, such as carrots, celery, Chinese cabbage, onions, garlic, wax gourd, lettuce, leek and cabbage, decreased by more than 3% compared with the same period last year, of which carrots decreased by 41.4%. The yield of other species is basically stable.
The wholesale price of vegetables rose in August compared with the same period last year and month-on-month. In August, the average wholesale price of vegetables at the information monitoring sites in 580 key vegetable counties was 2.91 yuan / kg, up 15.0% from the same period last year and 5.1% from the previous month. The average prices in the upper, middle and lower thirties are 2.92 yuan / kg, 2.92 yuan / kg and 2.90 yuan / kg respectively. In terms of varieties, 15 kinds of vegetables, including green garlic, trailing beans, cucumbers, carrots, baby vegetables, tomatoes, purple garlic, cowpeas, Chinese cabbage, celery, zucchini, round eggplant, white garlic, celery, green leek, etc., have increased by more than 10% month-on-month, while two kinds of vegetables, such as red pepper and colored pepper, have dropped more than 10% month-on-month, and the prices of other varieties are basically stable.

According to statistics, the area of vegetables in the field at the information monitoring sites of 580 key vegetable counties at the end of August was 1.42 million mu, a decrease of 1.8 per cent over the same period last year and an increase of 9.4 per cent over the previous month. Among them, the field area of three types of vegetables, such as cauliflower, carrots and spinach, increased by more than 3% at the end of the month compared with the same period last year. According to expert analysis, vegetable supply is expected to be stable in September, and wholesale prices will continue to rise slightly during the "Mid-Autumn Festival" and "National Day" holidays.
