Tea leaves can be divided into spring tea, summer tea, autumn tea and winter tea according to the seasons. They can be picked in one year. The picking time of four seasons tea is as follows:

1. Spring tea picking time

The picking time of spring tea is from late March to mid-May of that year. At this time, the spring tea has a good quality after half a year's cultivation.

III. What are the key points of tea picking technology?

Tea picking is very critical for tea, because tea picking seasonality is very strong, picking technology requirements are high, so the following technical points are introduced as follows:

1. Tea should be picked in time.

Generally, after the new shoots sprout, they should be picked in time according to the requirements of the tea for fresh leaves, otherwise the quality of the tea will decline with the passage of time. General tea will have higher requirements for fresh leaves, generally one bud and one leaf or one bud and two leaves. Generally, low mountains are mined first and then high mountains, sunny slopes are mined first and then shady slopes, soil is mined first and clay is mined later, early buds are mined first and then late buds are mined, and old clusters are mined first and then new canopy.

2. Tea leaves should be picked many times in batches

Tea picking is carried out according to different actual conditions. Generally, spring tea is picked every 2- 3 days, summer tea is picked every 3- 4 days, and autumn tea is picked every 6-7 days. To master the reasonable batch picking of tea, it should be transferred according to the variety, climate, age, fertilizer management and the requirements of tea raw materials.

3. Young and mature tea trees are picked differently

Young tea trees are mainly cultivated and supplemented by picking. Generally, 3-year-old tea trees are picked at the end of spring tea, summer tea leaves are picked 2~3 leaves, autumn tea leaves are picked fish leaves; while adult tea trees are picked mainly by picking, supplemented by cultivation, more picking and less retention, and the combination of picking and cultivation to prolong the high yield period.

In addition to picking tea trees, proper pruning should be carried out, and batch picking should also be determined according to tea tree varieties, climatic conditions, tree age and management level.
