Saffron, also known as saffron, is a common traditional Chinese medicine, which has the functions of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, treating amenorrhea, postpartum abdominal pain and appetizer. Due to geographical limitations, the planting scale of saffron in China is not large. Here are some points for attention in the cultivation of "soft gold" saffron!

I. soil conditions

The best soil for crocus cultivation is sunny, well drained, convenient to irrigate, strong in water and fertility, rich in organic matter and slightly acidic or neutral in pH value. Under such soil conditions, saffron can grow normally, especially in depressions, shady lands and cropping lands with excessive stickiness or stagnant water, which will lead to poor growth and development of saffron. And it's easy to get sick.

Second, planting temperature

Saffron has the characteristics of warmth and cold resistance. We should also pay a little attention to the temperature when planting. In general, the temperature of the planting place should not exceed 20 degrees, but in winter, the temperature should not be lower than zero. In order to promote the growth of saffron bulbs, the temperature had better be kept at about 15 degrees, and if saffron is to bloom, the temperature had better be between 15 and 20 degrees. So when growing saffron, if the temperature is lower than 5 degrees, you need to cover the film, but when the temperature rises, remember to remove the film in time.

Third, control humidity

The growth of saffron needs enough water, it has the characteristics of like wetting, but afraid of waterlogging, afraid of stagnant water. During the growing period of saffron, we need proper watering to keep the soil moist in the field and promote the growth of saffron corm. After planting saffron, if there is no rain for a long time, we should water it in time, but to avoid excessive humidity to avoid corm rot, and it is best to carry out intertillage after watering to avoid soil hardening caused by watering.

IV. Timely and appropriate amount of fertilizer

Saffron has a great demand for nutrients, no matter it is nitrogen fertilizer or phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, its demand is relatively large. When planting saffron, we usually use mature farm manure and appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. In the early stage of saffron growth, we mainly use frequently thin nitrogen fertilizer to promote the growth of saffron plants, while in the later growth stage of saffron, we mainly use phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Use a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer together, and be careful not to sprinkle fertilizer on the branches, leaves or flowers of saffron, or it may cause seedling burning.

The above is the introduction of the matters needing attention in the cultivation of saffron by Tuliu. saffron has high requirements for the growth environment, and it is difficult to survive without suitable soil and temperature. although the economic value of saffron is high, it cannot be planted blindly.
