The "China-FAO Symposium on Sustainable and innovative Development of South-South Cooperation and the training course on China's Agricultural Development Policy and South-South Cooperation" was launched in Wuhan on December 7. Kim Jong-Jin made the above remarks at the opening ceremony of the event.

Kim Jong-Jin said: China is a country with a large population and agriculture, and agricultural development and food security have always been a challenge. China has dealt with this challenge well through its own development and innovation of agricultural technology. it provides valuable experience and solutions for global developing countries in dealing with hunger, poverty eradication and sustainable development of agricultural resources.

China is an active participant, supporter and promoter of the South-South Cooperation Program of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. According to statistics, by the end of June 2015, through South-South cooperation projects with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, China has sent a total of 1023 experts and technicians to 25 countries and regions in Africa, Asia, the South Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, accounting for 56% of the total number of expatriates in South-South cooperation projects.

Kim Jong-Jin said that these experts and technicians brought more than 400 agricultural technologies, including irrigation, horticulture, animal husbandry, agriculture, crop production, agroforestry, food processing, agricultural trade, agricultural machinery manufacturing and other fields. It has made great contributions to the improvement of local agricultural production in developing countries.
