Hazelnut is known as the "king of dried fruit", and it is also one of the four major nuts in the world, also known as mountain chestnut, which is rich in nutritional value and has certain medicinal value. So, what are the high-yield planting techniques of hazelnut? Let's study together.

1. Planting density

In order to achieve the goal of high yield, planting hazelnut must first have a reasonable planting density, which depends on many aspects, such as species, varieties, cultivation techniques, etc. The second is the tree shape, topography, soil conditions and climate temperature of hazelnut trees, so it is necessary to consider the planting density in these aspects when planting, for example, the soil is highly fertile. In areas with relatively flat terrain and varieties with exuberant growth and open crowns, the row spacing of each hazelnut tree should be a little farther, and the planting density of varieties with weak growth and small tree shape should be slightly tighter in areas with relatively poor soil.

2. Cultivation depth

The cultivation depth of a plant will directly determine the final yield. During cultivation, the root should not be buried too deep or too shallow, the rhizome and the ground should be flat or not less than five centimeters after cultivation, and the most suitable cultivation depth is about eight centimeters. If the cultivated soil is sparse and soft, it should be properly watered before planting, or gently firm the soil. The aim is to prevent the soil from sinking after planting, which makes it difficult to control the depth of cultivation, because the soil sinks with the roots and is not easy to manage at a later stage.

3. Water and fertilizer management

Hazelnut is a kind of shrub that likes water. After planting hazelnut trees, we should immediately set up an irrigated tree plate around all hazelnut trees, with a diameter of at least one meter, to facilitate later watering. Watering immediately after planting, and must be fully irrigated, because enough water can seal the soil to preserve soil moisture, and then cover the tree plate with plastic film to keep warm and wet and promote the growth and development of roots. To improve the survival rate of the hazelnut tree, the fertilizer requirement of the hazelnut is relatively moderate. Generally, the mature farm manure is applied before and after the Beginning of Summer, and then the compound fertilizer is applied once in July. In the second year, the fertilizer can be applied outside the hazelnut tree, but be careful not to be too deep and excessive.

4. Timely pruning

When pruning, leave a trunk for the hazelnut tree, and later carry out shaping and pruning according to the growth morphology and development characteristics of the hazelnut tree, and arrange a reasonable skeleton for the hazelnut tree. There are generally three kinds of tree shapes for the hazelnut tree. The first is the less dry cluster type, which mainly leaves about three basic branches as the main branches and then grows and develops in different directions. The second is the single trunk, as long as one trunk is retained. Then keep four or so evenly distributed main branches on the trunk, and then select the side branches on the main branches, the side branches will produce auxiliary branches and fruiting mother branches, and finally form a short trunk.

The above is the high-yield planting technology of hazelnut, I hope it can help the growers!
