Announcement of the National Bureau of Statistics on Grain output in 2015
According to the sampling survey conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics on agricultural production and operation households in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the comprehensive statistics of agricultural production and operation units, the national grain sown area, unit area output and total grain output in 2015 are as follows:
1. The sown area of grain in the country is 113340.5 thousand hectares (1.700107 billion mu), an increase of 617.9 thousand hectares (9.269 million mu) or 0.5 percent over 2014. Among them, the sown area of grain [1] is 95648.9 thousand hectares (1.434734 billion mu), an increase of 1045.4 thousand hectares (15.681 million mu) over 2014, or 1.1 percent.
2. The national grain output per unit area is 5482.9 kg / ha (365.5 kg / mu), an increase of 97.8 kg / ha (6.5kg / mu) or 1.8% over 2014. Among them, the yield per unit area of grain is 5982.9 kg / ha (398.9 kg / mu), an increase of 90.8kg / ha (6.1kg / mu) or 1.5% over 2014.
Third, the country's total grain output is 621.435 million tons (1.24287 trillion jin), an increase of 14.408 million tons (28.82 billion jin) or 2.4% over 2014. Of this total, grain output was 572.253 million tons (1.14451 trillion jin), an increase of 14.846 million tons (29.69 billion jin) or 2.7% over 2014.

Explanation on the system and method of Grain output investigation
The country's total grain output is the total output of summer grain, early rice and autumn grain in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities).
(1) investigation methods
The statistical survey of grain output adopts the method of sampling survey of main varieties and comprehensive statistics of small varieties, and the survey objects include agricultural production and operation households and business units. The investigation teams of the National Bureau of Statistics are responsible for the sampling survey of agricultural production and operation households, and the provincial (autonomous regional and municipal) statistical offices are responsible for the comprehensive statistical work of agricultural production and operation units.
The subjects of the sample survey are agricultural production and operation households, and the main grain varieties investigated are rice, wheat, corn and so on. Through the survey of representative villagers' groups, farmers and plots selected by the province as a whole, the sown area survey is an inventory of all crops in the sample area at the time of the survey; the yield per unit area survey adopts the method of actual cutting measurement, and then calculates the actual sown area and unit area yield of the main grain varieties, and the two results are multiplied to get the yield. The grain output produced by agricultural production operators accounts for more than 95% of the country's grain output.
(2) Survey samples
At present, the grain output sample survey is carried out in 848 national survey counties. 8890 village groups and 480000 farmers are selected from the crop sown area survey. 8890 village groups and more than 60, 000 plots are selected for the yield per unit area of major food crops such as rice, wheat and corn, which are carried out by investigators and auxiliary investigators of the grass-roots investigation teams of the National Bureau of Statistics.
(3) actual cutting measurement method
The yield per unit area of main grain varieties was investigated by the method of actual cutting. According to the "Agricultural yield sampling Survey system", on the basis of the sown area survey samples, the grass-roots investigators in each investigation village estimated and queued the corresponding grain varieties one by one before the grain crops were harvested, and selected a certain number of sample plots. At the time of harvest, the county-level investigators or auxiliary investigators set out on the sample plots, cut the samples, and then calculate the per unit yield of the plots through threshing, drying, measuring water impurity, weighing, checking cutting and beating losses, and so on. The investigation teams of the National Bureau of Statistics calculate the average output per unit area of the whole province (autonomous region and city) according to the unit yield of the sampled plots.
Note:
[1] grains mainly include corn, rice, wheat, barley, sorghum, buckwheat, oats and so on.
