Kidney beans, also known as kidney beans, white kidney beans, frame beans, knife beans, kidney lentils, jade beans, beans, etc., are leguminous annual, winding or nearly erect herbs, fresh and tender pods can be eaten as vegetables. Next, I would like to introduce the time and method of planting kidney beans.

1. Planting time of kidney beans:

Kidney beans are generally sown from April to June and can be planted all the year round in the greenhouse.

2. Planting methods of kidney beans:

1. Neutral and slightly acidic soil with deep soil layer and good drainage is better, but it is not suitable for soil with heavy viscosity and poor drainage.

2. Planting in single or double ridges with high moisture content, row spacing 0.8-1m, plant spacing 0.35m-0.45m, 2-3 seeds per pond, sowing depth 10-15cm, 1500-2200 ponds per mu, can be purebred or interplanted.

3. 1500 kg of agricultural fertilizer is applied per mu, 40-50 kg of compound fertilizer (30 kg of phosphate fertilizer and 10-15 kg of potassium fertilizer) is used as base fertilizer, and compound fertilizer is applied twice at the initial flowering stage and podding stage, 10-15 kg per mu each time.

4. Set up the frame when 5-6 true leaves appear, remove the technical head when the plant height is 50 cm, and remove the new branches many times to make the plant form a short shrub-like shape, reduce the height and increase the number of flowering and pods.

3. Matters needing attention in planting kidney beans:

1. Kidney beans are cold-tolerant and avoid high temperature. The aboveground parts will die when the temperature is lower than 5 degrees, and it is difficult to pollinate seeds higher than 30 degrees or 15 degrees lower.

2. Kidney beans are short-day crops. They like plenty of sunshine, the shorter the sunshine time is, the earlier the flowering, podding and ripening time of kidney beans are, otherwise, they will delay or not blossom and bear pods.

3. Kidney beans require sufficient and uniform water during the whole growth period, and the most water is needed in the flowering and podding stage. If there is a lack of water, the yield will be affected.
