Plant spacing and row spacing of eggplant

The plant spacing of eggplant is generally 40-45 cm, row spacing 60-65 cm, planting 2500-2700 plants per mu, or 35-40 cm, 65-70 cm, 2800-3000 plants per mu. If the seedlings are separated at the seedling stage and at the two true leaf stage, the row spacing is 8 × 8 cm, and the nutrition cup of 9 × 9 cm can also be selected to ensure that the seedlings have a certain nutritional area.

Key points of planting techniques of eggplant

1. Soil: sandy loam or loam with high dry terrain, uniform soil fertility, deep soil layer, ventilation and light, fertile and loose soil, convenient drainage and irrigation, stable yield and harvest, should be selected for 2-3 years without planting eggplant fruits, melons and vegetables, potatoes, tobacco and other crops, preferably with beans, onions and garlic crops.

2. Soil preparation: deep ploughing and whitening of the selected land, fine crushing of the soil, application of 50-80 kg lime powder per mu to disinfect the soil and adjust pH, and then apply sufficient basic fertilizer (2000 kg per mu of rotten farm manure and 50 kg of compound fertilizer).

3. Planting: eggplant seedlings were drenched with enough water after planting, and stopped watering after the seedlings survived, so as to promote deep root system. The planting and sowing date in early spring is in December, planted in late February and harvested at the end of April, and planted in May, planted in June and harvested from August to September.

Fertilizer should be applied once for every 2 harvests, compound fertilizer 15-20 kg per mu, and foliar fertilizer such as gold potassium friend, Aiduo harvest or 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be sprayed at the same time. There is not much water demand in the early stage of growth, proper drought is beneficial to flower bud differentiation and increase fruit setting rate; after root eggplant is stable, the water needed for plant growth gradually increases, so the soil should be kept moist and properly irrigated.
