Liriodendron chinense, also known as Liriodendron mandshurica, is native to China and is mainly produced in the south of the Yangtze River Basin. It is distributed in southeastern Shaanxi, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan. It is also cultivated in Taiwan and in northern Vietnam. Wild ones are born in mountain forests or forest margins at an altitude of 90-1000 m.

Liriodendron chinense is known as "China's tulip tree". It is not only elegant in appearance, but also has a pleasant aroma. It is a second-class national protected plant. Its leaves are more than ten centimeters long, which are different from those of ordinary plants. Its apex is truncated or slightly concave, while there are two deep lobes on both sides, which are very similar to mandarin and goose paw, hence the name.
