Seed cultivation of snow lotus root in Yugoslavia

Yugoslav snow lotus root is the most productive lotus root in the world, with the highest starch and sugar content, thin skin, crisp and sweet skin, raw food such as fruit, and many people want to grow it. Next, let's introduce the seed cultivation of snow lotus root in Yugoslavia.

1. Select lotus root seeds: from March to April, when the spring temperature rises to 12 ℃, dig up the remaining lotus root seeds and select the ones that accord with the characteristics of this variety, grow healthily and are disease-free.

2. Cut the lotus root tip: cut off the lotus root tip with 1 cm base node with a sharp knife, and then select the terminal bud full and non-damaged lotus root tip as the propagation material. 500-550 lotus root tips are needed per mu.

3. Nursery places: select paddy fields that are loose, fertile, sheltered from the wind and sun, good water retention and convenient drainage and irrigation as seedling breeding places, apply sufficient farm manure before winter, turn over the Kang deeply, irrigate in spring, plough and rake flat, and open ditches according to 2 meters wide, 1.5 meters wide, 0.5 meters wide and 0.2 meters deep.

4. Insert the lotus root tip: cover the box surface with plastic film, then open it on the film surface according to the row spacing of 10-15 cm and the plant spacing of 5-10 cm, insert the lotus root base node into the mud, the top bud is facing up, the depth is buried in the mud, the top bud is slightly exposed to the mud surface, set up a small arch shed after insertion, and cover the film for heat preservation.

5. Field management: the temperature of the seedling bed is kept above 15 ℃, and there is shallow water on the bed surface. To prevent the seedlings from burning at high temperature, it can be transplanted to the lotus root field when 2-3 leaflets grow from the top of the lotus root tip.
