The main diseases of wheat are wheat scab, powdery mildew, leaf blight and so on. Wheat scab, commonly known as "rotten wheat head", is a fungal disease; wheat powdery mildew can damage the aboveground organs of wheat plants, but mainly leaves and leaf sheaths, and glumes and wheat awn can also be damaged when the disease is serious; wheat leaf blight mostly occurs at the heading stage of wheat, which is a disease of low temperature and high humidity.

1. Wheat scab

It can be damaged from seedling to heading, mainly causing seedling withering, stem base rot, stem rot and ear rot, reducing 1000-grain weight and affecting yield. Wheat grains carrying scab bacteria contain toxins, which can cause poisoning to human and livestock, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness and so on.

Control measures: select disease-resistant varieties, less watering during the flowering stage of wheat, and treat with internal inhalation fungicides such as carbendazim and thiophanate methyl.

2. Wheat powdery mildew

At the beginning of the disease, the white mildew spot of 1~2mm appeared on the leaf surface, and then gradually expanded into a nearly round to oval white mildew spot, and there was a layer of white powder on the surface of the mildew spot, which flew away immediately in case of external force or vibration, and the mildew layer in the later part of the disease became grayish white to light brown, and there were small needle-sized black particles scattered on the spot.

Prevention and treatment measures: use drugs at the initial stage of the disease, such as heterocycles, triazoles, azoxystrobin, carbendazim and so on.

3. Wheat leaf blight

It mainly harms the leaf and leaf sheath. At the beginning of the disease, small oval light yellow to light green spots grow on the leaves, and irregular yellow-white to yellow-brown patches are formed in the later stage. Generally, the lower leaves begin to die and gradually develop upward. In severe cases, the leaves of the whole plant turn yellow and die.

Prevention and control measures: control irrigation and timely drainage; use thiram or triadimefon-carbendazim for seed dressing to prevent diseases; at the beginning of disease in the field, fungicides such as chlorothalonil + diniconazole, triadimefon, methyl thiophanate, fluorosilazole and isobarbazone were selected for control.
