It is impossible for yam to produce 11 tons per mu. There are many factors affecting yield, such as soil texture, variety, selection of Reed planting, depth and width of ditch, mixed use of fertilizer, height and height of firewood, cultivation management, pest control and so on. Under normal circumstances, the yield of yam is about 500kg to 2500kg per mu.

The planting techniques of Chinese yam are as follows:

First, choose the planting place

The products of Chinese yam are actually underground tubers, and the fibrous roots are relatively fine, so it has very strict requirements on the soil. And the yam can be neither drought nor waterlogged, so it is best to have a deep and permeable soil layer, with a high content of organic matter, and use that kind of slightly acidic soil if sandy soil, but the best soil quality is yellow cement sandy soil, which is very conducive to the growth and rooting of yam. And after the planting site has been selected, we should deeply plough the soil above 40cm in winter, and bask the soil well. After the beginning of spring, we will directly prepare the land according to the 50cm of the border height and width of 1.4m, and then plant two rows to build the drainage ditch around the field, and if the length of the field exceeds 20m, we will also enlarge the waist groove, so as to ensure rapid drainage in the rainy season. And yam can not be continuous cropping, it is best to rotate every 3 years.

2. Fertilizing and sowing

If we want to grow yam well, it is also very important to apply enough base fertilizer. Per mu, we can use about 2,000 kilograms of mature organic fertilizer, or 45 kilograms of imported compound fertilizer, and then add almost 50 kilograms of calcium superphosphate as base fertilizer. In March to April every year, if the temperature rises above 12 degrees, and the ground temperature has stabilized, it has always been above 10 degrees. We can choose a weather that does not rain to plant. And before planting, we can slowly open the planting ditch according to the line spacing of 50 centimeters, and then open a trench between the two rows to apply the prepared base fertilizer, and then cover it with soil immediately, and then put the root head vertically in the planting ditch according to the plant spacing of about 25--30cm. Be careful not to put it upside down, one piece in each hole will do, if you plant it with zero seeds, there will be only one zero seed in each hole. And in order for the root system to grow quickly, place it horizontally in the planting ditch, and then cover it with 4cm soil.

III. Planting management

In the early stage of growth, we should weed in time, usually weeding once in half a month, until the stem can be on the top shelf, and then remove the weeds. Dig out some of the soil from the ditch and fill it into the middle of the rack to form a high border, so that it is convenient to drain water during the rainy season. Although the yam is more drought-resistant, we should water it properly in order to have a high yield. In its germination period and the formation of potato pieces must be moist, generally speaking, before and after the first topdressing, if it does not rain, the soil will appear white, then it is necessary to reduce the watering of 1 Murray twice, as long as the surface layer of the soil becomes moist. If it comes to the turn of summer and autumn, it is necessary to pour cold water for a long time to fight the drought.
