Before planting peony, the diseased root should be cut off and the loose and fertile sandy soil should be selected for planting. When planting, you need to choose a higher eastward and sunny place, and the potted plants should be placed on a sunny eastward balcony. In the later stage, fertilizer should be applied at least three times a year, and appropriate amount of water should be applied.

1. Soil

Peony soil is relatively loose, fertile sandy soil, avoid sticky heavy soil or low temperature planting. Before planting peony, some diseased roots need to be cut off in order to facilitate the absorption of nutrients by peony.

2. Lighting

When peony is planted on the ground, it is necessary to choose a higher eastward sunny place, and the potted plant should be placed on a sunny eastward balcony, such as a south balcony or roof platform, and shade should be tried to the west. The high temperature and humidity in the south is extremely disadvantageous to the growth of tree peony, and the cultivation of tree peony in the south needs to give it specific environmental conditions.

3. Moisture

If the dry land is dry, it can be watered appropriately, but it should be dry rather than wet, and the soil can only be watered after it is dry. The root system of tree peony is perpendicular to the soil, and the loosening soil should be deep. Loosen the topsoil at least three times a year, once after flowering in spring, once after the rainy season in summer, and once after typhoon and rainstorm in autumn.

4. Fertilization

Fertilizer is applied at least three times a year, the first before flowering to promote flowering, the second half a month after flowering to supplement the nutrients consumed by flowering, and the third overwintering fertilizer before overwintering. The fertilizer is mainly rotten cake fertilizer. The amount of fertilizer should be 0.5-1 kg per plant, and it can also be mixed with chemical compound fertilizer.

5. Pruning

After germination in spring, about 5 branches will be left, and the rest will be wiped out to concentrate nutrition so as to make the flowers of the second year big and colorful. Autumn and winter, combined with Qingyuan, cut off the dry flower stalk, thin, non-flowering branches. When potted, trim it to your favorite shape as needed.

6. Pest control

The common disease of peony is brown spot, the leaves appear yellow-green spots at the beginning, and then gradually expand to form brown or black spots. Bordeaux liquid can be sprayed 1-2 times a month, if the condition is serious, it can be sprayed 3 times. The seriously infected leaves should be cut off and burned to prevent the vine from spreading.
