How to preserve sugarcane?

1. Surface storage method

In and near the sugarcane field, choose shelter, rake the topsoil, wet the surface, pile the sugarcane into a pile about 2 meters high, covered with fresh sugarcane leaves, and add a layer of soil on the sugarcane leaves. This method can be stored for about a month.

2. Trench storage method

This method is suitable for storing sugarcane in frost-free areas or during frost-free period. the sugarcane is bundled and put into a small pile with a distance of half a meter, and the sugarcane pile is filled with wet soil and covered with soil. during the storage period, the accumulation of water in the sugarcane pile should be prevented.

3. Cellar method

Suitable for the storage of sugarcane in frost areas, choose a place where there is no stagnant water, dig a cellar with a depth of 30-60 cm and a width of sugarcane long, (drainage ditches need to be dug inside and outside the cellar in rainy areas), 10 sugarcane is a bundle, stacked 5-7 layers high, and the head of the sugarcane is straight or crossed. Each cellar does not exceed 5000 kg. The bottom, surroundings and upper parts of the cellar are covered with fresh sugarcane leaves and poured cold water twice to keep the cellar moist. When the temperature drops below 10 ℃, cover the mud to seal the cellar, the temperature during the storage period is controlled at 4-9 ℃, and the humidity is about 80% Mel 90%. The cellar method can be preserved for months or even overwintering.

How to preserve peeled sugar cane?

The moisture and sugar content of sugarcane are very high, after peeling, the sugarcane is easy to lose too much water at room temperature, and the sugarcane becomes dry, the taste becomes worse, and at the same time, it is also easy to be bred by fungi, causing deterioration. This kind of sugarcane needs to be cut into small sections with a knife, put in the fresh-keeping layer of the refrigerator, do not be drenched in water or wrapped in plastic wrap, and can be stored on a plate directly. It can be stored for about 2 days and needs to be eaten in a short time.
