How to preserve fresh ginseng

Types of ginseng currently on the market:

Raw sun-dried ginseng: taproot about 3-10 cm long, diameter about 0.3-2 cm. The surface is khaki, with black brown stripes and longitudinal wrinkles. The fine branches and fibrous roots have been removed, leaving only traces. Crispy, light body, flat section, white, radial cracks. Fragrant and bitter. There are complete rhizomes and fibrous roots, called "all must be sun-dried ginseng."

White ginseng: characters with sugar ginseng, better shape, and wild ginseng similar, but mostly straight body, rhizome longer than red ginseng, fibrous root scattered, short and brittle.

White stem ginseng: the epidermis of the main root has been removed, the body surface is pale yellow or white, the upper horizontal stripes are not obvious, but shallow longitudinal wrinkles and branch root marks can be seen. Other characters are similar to those of sun-dried ginseng.

Red ginseng: taproot length about 5-20 cm, diameter about 0.7-2 cm. The surface is brownish red, translucent, with large longitudinal wrinkles, ring patterns are not obvious, and there are branch root marks. Rootstock khaki, there are 4-6 bowl-shaped stem marks. Hard and brittle, flat cross-section, cutin, brownish red, with a light-colored center. Fragrance, taste slightly bitter.

Pinched skin ginseng: taproot about 6-15 cm long, about 1.2-2.5 cm in diameter, pale yellow surface, upper ring pattern is not obvious, but many processing caused by pits can be seen. Branches are light brown, branches and fibrous roots tied into oxtail shape with thread. White section. Fragrance, sweet taste slightly bitter.

Edge ginseng: characters with red ginseng, but generally with a longer rhizome, long diameter round, long roots for the characteristics.

Organic ginseng: no pesticide residue, no fertilizer, no genetically modified. The ingredients and effects of ginseng are retained to the greatest extent.
