The propagation method of Prunus mume is mainly cutting, which is usually carried out from March to June. First of all, select the 1-2-year-old strong outer sunny branch, cut it to grow about 8-10cm cuttings with 3-4 nodes. Then, the cuttings were inserted obliquely on the substrate with a depth of about 4-6cm. The cuttings were watered and placed in a slightly shady place for maintenance. New roots grew in 20-30 days, and can be transplanted into pots in 50-60 days.

1. Select cuttings: choose 1-2-year-old outer layer sunny branches, do not choose too twigs, immature branches, long branches, shade branches. Remove the selected cuttings, cut with a knife to grow about 8-10cm, retain 3-4 nodes, lower oblique cutting, at 5-10 mm below the node, remove the lower leaves and retain the upper two and a half (full) leaves as cuttings.

2. Cutting time: generally in March-June, when the temperature is suitable (20-30 degrees), the humidity is high and the management is convenient. Insert the cuttings obliquely on the substrate with a depth of about 4-6cm, then water them and place them in a slightly shady place for maintenance.

3. Daily maintenance: sparse light can be seen within 15 days after cutting, and then gradually strengthen the light, about 25 days of all-day sunshine. Keep the matrix moist in the early stage, and gradually "dry and wet" after 40 days. Spray 1/1000 potassium dihydrogen phosphate plus urea at a time in about ten days.

4. Transplanting into the pot: the cuttage of Prunus mume is to spit buds and grow branches first, and then take root, so don't transplant into the pot when spitting buds and long branches. Generally, new roots grow in 20-30 days after cuttage. After 40 days, the surviving seedlings are tempered in strong sunlight for a week, and then transplanted into pots in 50-60 days.
