How to plant wheatgrass

1. Seed selection

If you choose and buy high-quality seeds, the manpower, material and financial resources invested corresponding to good seeds will be relatively large, and from collection to storage, you have to go through a series of tedious and extremely strict processes, and they are all new species, so you must carefully select seeds when you buy them. Avoid old seeds, dead seeds, in order to minimize the planting risk.

2. Sprouting

The seeds of wheatgrass are soaked in clear water before planting to soften the shell of the seeds and wake up the germ. After these treatments, the germination rate of seeds will be greatly improved.

3. Soil

Wheatgrass does not have much requirement on soil, but it is most suitable to grow in chestnut soil. It is not suitable to grow in saline-alkali soil. Before planting, it is necessary to clean up the weeds in the soil and sprinkle with base fertilizer, such as cow dung, chicken manure and so on in order to achieve the nutritional conditions needed by wheatgrass.

4. Sowing seeds

Strip sowing or sowing, it is best to plough the land once before sowing, the wheatgrass seed is small, the top soil capacity is weak, shallow ploughing when planting, sowing the seeds and covering the soil with 1~2cm, so the germination rate is better.

5. Field management

Planting seeds into the field is considered to have completed the first step, the early growth of wheatgrass is relatively slow, so regular ploughing and weeding should be done, and at the same time, attention should be paid to soil moisture, timely watering and topdressing, and so on. If the soil is barren, it is bound to affect growth, so it is necessary to keep a good balance.
