Planting sword orchids should use sandy soil with good drainage, and flowerpots should use plain pottery pots or plastic pots. After planting, it is necessary to topdressing in time and apply rotten liquid fertilizer 3-4 times a month. In the later stage, we need to pay attention to the problems of light, moisture, temperature and so on.

1. Basin soil

Planting sword orchid should choose sandy soil, the soil layer is deep, good drainage, not easy to accumulate water.

Flowerpots had better choose plain pottery pots or plastic pots, with holes at the bottom, so it is best to plant in shallow pots with small height and diameter if it is convenient for ventilation. Don't buy a pot casually, it's not a good style to raise flowers.

two。 Watering

The seedlings of the sword orchid should be watered every 10 days to ensure that the basin soil is moist to prevent the leaf tips from yellowing. It is necessary to replenish water in time after flowering. The summer weather is hot, the water evaporates quickly, and the water can be irrigated every 4 days, and the flowering period can be prolonged by proper water control after flowering.

The amount of water should be strictly controlled when watering. Large water or stagnant water is easy to cause root rot, lack of water will cause flower stem wilting, and improper water will affect beauty.

3. Fertilizer application

Sword orchid is a fertilizer-loving flower, which should be fertilized in time after planting. Generally apply mature liquid fertilizer 3-4 times a month, pay attention to the content of nitrogen fertilizer, increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, in order to increase the differentiation rate of flower buds.

After flowering, calcium superphosphate can be selected as topdressing to promote corm growth.

In addition, the newly planted seedlings should pay attention to three times of fertilization: the first time 2 leaves grow out, the second time 4 leaves grow out, and the third time after flowering. After the flowers fade, the bulbs will be taken out in time, dried and stored.

4. Temperature

Sword orchids usually blossom after three months of planting, but they are greatly affected by temperature in the process of growth. The higher the temperature during the growth period, the faster the growth, of course, it should be controlled within a certain range. For example, when the temperature is 12 ℃, it takes 110-120 days to blossom, 15 ℃, only 90-100 days, when 20 ℃, 70-80 days, and when the temperature reaches 25 ℃, only 60-70 days.

5. Light

Sword orchids like the sun, more than 14 hours a day of light conditions, flower bud differentiation will be better. After flower bud differentiation, proper reduction of light time can promote flower bud growth and early flowering.
