Hazel is suitable for planting on sunny slope, and the growth performance of sandy loam is better than that of clayey soil, and it has strong adaptability to all kinds of soil. Powdery mildew and heart-eating insects can be controlled twice a year in spring and summer. Hazel trees share male and female flowers, but a single variety can not self-pollinate or have a weak affinity for pollination, so multiple varieties must be mixed when building a garden. It is recommended that the plant spacing should not be less than 2.5 meters and the row spacing should be 3 meters.

1. Positive: the growth performance of hazel on positive sunny slope is better than that on semi-sunny slope, and the growth of hazel on shady slope is slightly weaker, so hazel is not suitable for waterlogging in flat land.

2. Soil property: the growth performance of sandy loam is better than that of clayey soil, and it has strong adaptability to all kinds of soil, showing the characteristics of drought tolerance, cold tolerance and barren soil resistance of hybrid Corylus officinalis.

3. Fewer diseases: powdery mildew, heart-eating insects, drug control twice a year in spring and summer, and the management is the easiest compared with other fruit trees.

4. Pollination: the male and female flowers of hazel trees are common, but a single variety can not self-pollinate or have a weak affinity for pollination. Under the condition that reliable artificial pollination can not be ensured, multi-varieties must be mixed in the establishment of the garden.

5. Planting density: the height of the five-year-old hazel tree is 2.5 meters, and the expanding diameter of the tree head can reach more than 2 meters. It is recommended that the plant spacing of the flat land should not be less than 2.5 meters, and the row spacing should be 3 meters; the hillside and terraced fields should depend on the slope and soil conditions, and the plant spacing should not be less than 2 meters.
