Over the past 10 years, under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China's global important agricultural cultural heritage protection (GIAHS) has achieved fruitful results and successfully completed various tasks, accounting for 11 of the 32 global important agricultural cultural heritage protection lists, ranking first in the world. PercyMisika, representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Mongolia, North Korea and China, delivered a speech at the "Summary of the FAO Global important Agricultural Cultural Heritage projects in China and the 10th Anniversary of the Licensing of the Qingtian Rice-Fish Symbiosis system" held in Qingtian, Zhejiang Province on October 13 and spoke highly of it. "China has become a model for the protection of the world's important agricultural cultural heritage," he said. Make important contributions to the construction of the global agricultural cultural heritage protection system and the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas, and lead the global important agricultural cultural heritage work in the right direction.

After ten years of sharpening a sword, China's agricultural cultural heritage has opened up a new way for the world's sustainable development.

Global important Agricultural Cultural Heritage (GIAHS) is a major initiative launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 2002 with the support of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and relevant international organizations and countries, which aims to explore the valuable experience and wealth of traditional agriculture and explore new ways for the sustainable development of world agriculture. In 2005, FAO selected five different types of traditional agricultural systems as the first protection pilot in six countries. China's "Zhejiang Qingtian Rice-Fish Symbiosis system" was recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Institute of Geographical Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the United Nations University. It was recognized as the first batch of protection pilot sites by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and became the first officially licensed heritage site in the world in June 2005. After 10 years of exploration and practice, the rice-fish symbiosis system in Qingtian, Zhejiang Province has found a new way for the protection of global important agricultural cultural heritage and the sustainable development of world agriculture, and has become a world model for GIAHS protection. Driven by Qingtian Yunnan Honghe Hani rice terrace system, Jiangxi Wannian rice culture system, Guizhou Congjiang Dong Township rice fish duck system, Yunnan Pu'er ancient tea garden and tea culture system, Inner Mongolia Aohan dry farming system, Zhejiang Shaoxing Huaiji Mountain Guxiang Torreya Group, Hebei Xuanhua City traditional Vineyard, Jiangsu Xinghua traditional Agricultural system, Shaanxi Jiaxian Ancient Jujube Garden, Fujian Fuzhou Jasmine and Tea Culture system have been selected into the GIAHS list. The economic, ecological and social benefits of the protection and development of agricultural cultural heritage in China are prominent, farmers' cultural consciousness and enthusiasm for protection are significantly enhanced, and governments at all levels and all sectors of society are increasingly aware of the value and importance of protection of agricultural cultural heritage. The excavation and protection of agricultural cultural heritage in China has become an important starting point for promoting the construction of rural ecological civilization, the construction of beautiful villages and the sustainable development of agriculture. These important agricultural cultural heritages are becoming a "laboratory" for the study of traditional ecological agriculture, a window for displaying traditional agricultural culture, a base for producing eco-cultural agricultural products, and a destination for eco-cultural tourism.

Improve the protection system and strengthen the construction of the system to promote the development of important agricultural cultural heritage undertakings

In order to establish an omni-directional and three-dimensional protection system of important agricultural cultural heritage, and to promote the inheritance of agricultural culture and the development of economy and society, the Ministry of Agriculture has established the guiding ideology of "protection in excavation and inheritance in utilization". With the support of relevant experts such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it has constructed a management mechanism of government supervisors, scientific demonstration, hierarchical management, multi-party participation and benefit sharing. In 2012, it took the lead in carrying out the excavation and protection of national agricultural cultural heritage in the world. At present, 62 important agricultural cultural heritages in China have been announced in three batches, distributed in 25 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. Introduced a number of measures, took the lead in promulgating the "measures for the Management of important Agricultural Cultural Heritage", set up an expert committee composed of experts in agriculture, ecology, environment, economy, history, culture, society and other fields, and established a system for the exchange of GIAHS work experience. This paper explores the effective ways of dynamic protection, while effectively protecting the traditional agricultural system and its agricultural biodiversity, agricultural ecological landscape, agricultural folk culture and agricultural production technology, through the development of agricultural products and characteristic food processing and leisure agriculture and rural tourism, it expands the function and development mode of agricultural production, increases farmers' income, and brings remarkable economic, ecological and benefits to the heritage site. Let the farmers of the heritage site get real benefits, "become the most successful practitioner of the protection of important agricultural cultural heritage in the world."

Build a platform to strengthen scientific and technological support and carry out strategic research on agricultural cultural heritage and its protection

Agricultural cultural heritage is a kind of complex system. The excavation, protection, utilization and inheritance of agricultural cultural heritage is a complex system engineering, which needs to carry out multi-disciplinary, cross-disciplinary and multi-angle comprehensive research. With the support of the Global Environment Fund, the Ministry of Agriculture International Exchange and Cooperation Project, the Chinese Academy of Engineering key consultation projects, environmental protection public welfare projects, science and technology basic work projects, etc., the Geographic Science Resources Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has joined hands with relevant scientific research institutes over the past 10 years. It includes the origin and evolution of agricultural cultural heritage, agricultural biodiversity and adaptation to climate change, eco-environmental effects and ecosystem service functions, multi-function and multi-value and sustainability evaluation, eco-agriculture and multi-function agricultural development, tourism development potential and sustainable tourism development countermeasures, and the legal basis of agricultural cultural heritage protection. The study on the Protection and Development Strategy of China's important Agricultural Cultural Heritage has been completed, and a series of research monographs and articles have been published Set up a series of platforms, advocated the establishment of the Agricultural Cultural Heritage Research Association of East Asia and the Agricultural Cultural Heritage Branch of the Chinese Agricultural Association, promoted the development of agricultural cultural heritage disciplines and the training of young talents, and initially formed a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive research team; the completed consultation report was approved by party and state leaders and carried out various forms of science popularization work. Over the past 10 years, China has made fruitful scientific research achievements in the field of agricultural cultural heritage, which not only effectively supports the protection of agricultural cultural heritage in China, but also leads the theoretical research of international GIAHS protection.

China's experience going abroad has enhanced its influence and voice.

After 10 years of development, China has been in the forefront of the world in heritage declaration and management, scientific research and achievement promotion, policy integration and mechanism building, discipline development and capacity building. China's experience has gone abroad to the world. In 2011, Academician Li Wenhua was elected Chairman of the GIAHS steering Committee of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and played a leading role in the protection of the world agricultural cultural heritage. In 2013, researcher Min Qingwen received the "Special contribution Award for Global important Agricultural Cultural Heritage" awarded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and became the only recipient in the world. The experience and practice of heritage protection in China has become a reference for decision-making in the formulation of relevant systems by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, has been respected and used for reference by other countries, and has played an important role in the vigorous development of important agricultural cultural heritage undertakings in the world. and directly promoted the global important agricultural cultural heritage protection work carried out by FAO, so that China's experience radiated to more and more countries. In June 2014, the Chinese government and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization signed an agreement on cooperation in GIAHS work under the framework of "South-South cooperation". The Ministry of Agriculture successively held two "GIAHS high-level training courses" in 2014 and 2015, and 60 people from more than 30 countries came to China to study and study, thus promoting more countries to join the ranks of GIAHS protection. Under the promotion of the Ministry of Agriculture, the APEC Beijing Declaration on Food Security adopted by the third APEC Agriculture and Food Ministers' meeting in 2014 stressed the need to "strengthen the protection of agricultural cultural heritage in all economies and support the efforts of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in the area of important global agricultural cultural heritage". It is under the strong promotion of the Chinese government that "global important agricultural cultural heritage" has become an important work of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. With the development over the past 10 years, China has made great contributions to promoting the global important agricultural heritage, and the global important agricultural cultural heritage has also become a characteristic work of China's agricultural international cooperation and a "golden signboard" for agricultural foreign exchanges. Through GIAHS work, the influence, voice and initiative of China's international cooperation have been further enhanced.
