Last Updated: 2024/11/09, The first step is to soak seeds for germination and prepare seedbeds; the second step is to select land and prepare soil preparation and fertilization; the third step is to plant melon seedlings; the fourth step is to prune vines and sit melons; and the fifth step is to apply fertilizer in due time according to growth.

The first step is to soak the seeds to promote germination, and at the same time prepare the seedbed; the second step is to select the land, and then do a good job in soil preparation and fertilization; the third step is to plant melons and vines; the fourth step is to prune and press the vines and set melons; the fifth step is to fertilize and irrigate according to the growth trend; finally, we can do a good job in pest control.

Several common diseases in watermelon planting and their control:

1. Watermelon seedling stunting disease. The disease occurs in the seedling stage, especially before the three-leaf stage, and is serious when the temperature is low and the soil moisture is high. At the initial stage of the disease, there was a small yellow waterlogging at the seedling site, and then it became yellowish brown and dried up and contracted, the disease developed rapidly, the cotyledons did not wither, the seedlings immediately collapsed, and when the humidity was high, a layer of white flocculent mycelium could be formed on the soil surface around the diseased part, which was a fungus. This fungus could survive the winter in the soil, and the disease was easy to occur in the soil at 10 ~ 16 ℃. Prevention and control methods: more than 50% carbendazim can be used to mix soil or make seedbed soil.

two。 Control watermelon blight: the disease occurs more often in the seedling stage, the birth of dark green water-immersed round irregular spots, and rapid expansion. When the humidity is high, it is light brown and easy to be broken. The stem, leaf and base of the seedling are infected with water, and dark green sunken spots appear, which surround the stem and rot, and all die below the stem. The hospital is fungal. Disease-resistant varieties should be selected, seeds should be disinfected before planting, and spray disinfection with disinfectant alum or aluminum ethyl phosphate.

3. Strict prevention of watermelon retting root disease: the disease is also easy to occur in the seedling stage, the seedlings grow slowly, the leaves atrophy and wilt, the roots turn yellow and rust at first, and do not send new roots for a long time, become sticky and rot, until the upper part of the seedlings wilt and die. The disease is mainly caused by excessive soil moisture and low soil temperature. Under the condition of low temperature and high humidity, the root development was blocked, the regeneration ability, absorption function and respiration of the root were seriously inhibited, a large number of root hairs died, and the aboveground part wilted. When raising seedlings, try to use seedling bowls or nutrition bowls to raise seedlings, the main humidity, the water is not larger.

In addition, the use of watermelon grafted seedlings is also an efficient way to control some stubborn diseases, farmers can understand.
