Grass seeds can be sown in mid-late October, and the sowing rate depends on the quality of grass seeds, generally about 5 jin per mu. Ditching should not be too shallow to prevent stagnant water; top dressing and watering management can be carried out according to the growth situation.

Do grass seeds need to be soaked before sowing?

At present, the mainstream sprouting method of grass seeds is blisters, soaking in cold water for a period of time before sowing, according to the actual situation to decide whether to add chemicals. Soaking lawn seeds with water can not only increase the germination rate by 3% and 7%, but also unify the emergence time of the seeds, so that most of the seeds germinate in a period of time, which is easy to manage.

To give a few examples, such as tall fescue seeds soaked in water for one night before sowing, and then dried in dry water for one day, the drying temperature is kept between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius, and in a suitable growth environment, it can germinate in just seven days. Different grass seeds have different requirements for soaking time. Soak the grass seeds for only 4 to 5 hours. While some grass seeds are unnecessary to soak in water, such as Bermudagrass, Bermudagrass seeds will absorb a lot of water if they soak in water. At this time, if they come into contact with the soil with less water content, it will lead to a large amount of water loss inside the seeds, and the seeds will become withered, the budding rate will be reduced, and what is more serious is direct death.

Soaking grass seeds in water is an efficient way to improve the budding rate, but this method is not suitable for all grass seeds. We must understand the relevant knowledge before operation, so as not to cause a disaster and the loss outweighs the gain.
