Gardenia has a white rose-like shape and refreshing fragrance, with feathery green leaves, looks so beautiful. Because of its rich flower fragrance, beautiful flower shape and evergreen leaves throughout the year, many flower friends love it and will choose to keep a pot at home. Many friends will encounter a flower problem, potted gardenia flowers do not bloom how to do?

What if the potted gardenia does not blossom?

1. Soil causes

Gardenia likes loose, fertile, well-drained acidic soil. Only suitable soil can make it grow healthier and blossom more. So, how can we keep the basin soil acidic during daily maintenance?

In fact, it is not difficult, we in the daily watering, can add some citric acid to irrigate, generally about half a month watering can, so that the potted soil can maintain acidity, promote the better growth of gardenia, the whole plant growth is good, flowering is not difficult!

2. Nursing reasons

After pruning the gardenia, you must replenish it with nutrients and give it reasonable illumination. If in the process of maintenance, the fertility of the potted soil is not enough or the light is insufficient, it will not blossom. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied about 2 months before the flowering period of Gardenia jasminoides, and can be used together with microbial agent flower general fertilizer, so as to promote gardenia flower bud blooming.

3. Did not hit the top

Gardenia in the spring, the growth is very exuberant, many friends respond to a very dense but do not see its flowering, in fact, the main reason is that all the nutrients are used for growing branches, but all the nutrients for flowering are gone! Gardenia grows well, which is a good thing, but it does not mean that its lateral buds grow infinitely. We need to prune the terminal buds at the right time, let its branches age, and the aged branches will regenerate lateral buds. Blindly overgrowth only consumes the nutrients of the plant and blossoms with little or no flowering.

II. Matters needing attention in potted gardenia culture

1. Maintenance location

Gardenia likes a warm, bright, sunny and ventilated environment to ensure that the basin soil is well drained and avoid stagnant water, otherwise it is easy to grow spots and yellow leaves, leading to fungal infection.

2. Moisture

Pot gardenia watering should pay attention to dry thoroughly watering, basin soil 3 to 5 cm dry can be watered, can be detected with fingers, if watered too much, it is easy to lead to root rot.

3. Temperature

Gardenia is the easiest to blossom when the temperature is about 20 degrees. If the temperature changes too much, it is easy to drop buds or not to blossom.

Temperature between 15-30 degrees is the best growth temperature of gardenia, below 0 degrees, gardenia is easy to frostbite, in addition, if it is summer exposure, it is also easy to sunburn leaves, summer noon and afternoon need appropriate shade.
