1. Anticonvulsant effect: intraperitoneal injection of Tiannanxing decoction of 3 g / kg could significantly inhibit convulsions caused by strychnine, pentamethene tetrazolium and caffeine, but could not resist the attack of electroconvulsion, and the anticonvulsant intensity varied with different varieties.

2. Expectorant effect: the mouse phenol red excretion method was used to carry out the experiment, which showed that Tiannanxing water agent had expectorant effect, and the amount of phenol red excreted from the respiratory tract of the drug group was 150% and 170% of that of the control group, respectively.

3. Sedative and analgesic effects: rabbits and rats showed decreased activity, quiet and dull righting reflex after intraperitoneal injection of Tiannanxing decoction. It can prolong the sleep time of adult barbital in mice and has obvious analgesic effect.

4. Antioxidation: the two alkaloids contained in Artemisia angustifolia can scavenge superoxide anion free radicals and inhibit lipid peroxidation in liver mitochondria.

5. Anti-tumor effect: the alcohol-treated preparation of Tiannanxing water extract can inhibit Hela cells in vitro, and has certain inhibitory effect on experimental tumors in mice, such as sarcoma S180 ~ (10) HCA solid type and U14.

6. Detumescence and loose knot: for sore, furuncle, carbuncle and tuberculosis, use Shengnanxing to make thick juice with vinegar and smear the affected area. For snakebite, mash the affected area with fresh Nanxing, or use Nanxing and realgar as the end, mix with liquor.

7. Other effects: two alkaloids S201 and S202 in Tiannanxing could inhibit the contractility of atrium and papillary muscle and the frequency of sinoatrial ganglion in isolated dogs, and antagonize the effect of isoproterenol on heart.
