Common varieties of willow
1. Weeping willow
Slender and drooping branches, narrow lanceolate or linear lanceolate leaves, strong vitality, is one of the common tree species, and it is also a commonly used street tree in landscaping. It is cultivated in all parts of the Yangtze River and Yellow River basins, and introduced in Asia, Europe and America.
2. Dry willow
The branch is erect or obliquely spreading, the middle of the leaf is the widest, the base is round or wide wedge-shaped, light-loving, cold-resistant, wetland and dry land can grow, root system is developed, wind resistance is strong, and it often grows in arid or water wetlands. At present, it has not been introduced and cultivated artificially.
3. White willow
The crown is widely ovate, leaves lanceolate to oblanceolate, young leaves with silver-white silk hairs on both sides, adult leaves often glabrous above, slightly tomentose or nearly glabrous below, longer inflorescences, cultivated in Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, Xizang and other provinces.
4. Purple willow
The leaves are fine, spindle-shaped, green and smooth, with dense branches, hemispherical plants, sparse flowers in male inflorescences, female flower glands 2, florescence in April, distributed in Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other provinces of China.
