When does mango ripen?
Mangoes ripen in summer. The ripening time of mango varies with varieties and regions, and generally matures from May to July. Mango trees naturally bloom from December to January-February of the following year, sometimes as early as November or late for March of the following year, and bloom around the Spring Festival. From flowering to green ripening of mango, it takes 85-110 days for early-maturing, 100-120 days for middle-maturing and 120-150 days for late-maturing.
There are two obvious fruit drop peaks during mango fruit development: the first is about two weeks after flowering, which is mainly due to the withering and yellow shedding of malfertilized small fruits and a large amount of fruit drop; the second time is 4-7 weeks after flowering, except for a small number of malformed fruits or abortive fruits, and more due to lack of nutrients and water. Physiological fruit drop rarely occurs after 2.5 months after flowering, and only wind damage, fruit cracking or diseases and insect pests cause fruit drop at 80-85 days.
Mango is one of the famous tropical fruits. Mango fruit contains sugar, protein and crude fiber. Mango contains high carotene, the precursor of vitamin A, which is rare in all fruits. Secondly, the content of vitamin C is not low. Minerals, proteins, fats, sugars, etc., are also the main nutrients. Can make fruit juice, jam, canned, pickled, hot and sour pickles and mango milk powder, candied fruit and so on.
